FROM THE PASTOR’S DESKFr. Hayes has decided to keep the St. Peter Saturday evening 5:00 p.m. Mass for the time being. With the very limited seating availability it very well might be a challenge to fit everyone in to one Saturday Mass at this time. As St. Mary’s has not yet started having weekend Masses there’s no way to tell what number of people would already be attending that Mass from St. Mary’s. Therefore there will at this time continue being a 5:00 Saturday Mass at both St. Peter and St. Mary. I’m hoping to have an update for
you regarding daily Masses soon. The original plan was to have one Mass at either church each day. So for instance Monday and Wednesday at St. Peter and Tuesday and Thursday at St. Mary, and Friday at BFS during school or such. However, those details are still being worked out.
In Christ,Fr. Hahn

Communion Outside: we are going to make available once again, Communion at the handicap ramp going into the Church. This would be if you are worried about attending the Mass in a group setting but are yearning to receive Our Lord in Holy Communion. At the 11:30 a.m. Mass the spots along the parish center will be reserved for anyone who would like to participate. The idea is that you would watch the Mass on your phone if possible and then at Communion time one of the seminarians will come outside to the handicap ramp and give Communion. If you do not have a smartphone as such, but still want to participate, I would encourage you if possible to watch an earlier Mass on Facebook and then time it to arrive for Communion, or if you are not on Facebook, to at least read the readings or some of the Bible (maybe something from the Gospels) and then arrive in time to receive Communion. We’re hoping you can then at least get some Eucharistic nourishment until it is possible for you to return to attending the Mass. This will continue through July 12 and then Fr. Hayes will determine to continue.
See Facebook and the parish website for information, announcements, and links. You can access the parish Facebook page from the website without having your own Facebook page. Www.stpeterchillicothe.com.
As of July 1, 2020, the parish office returned to modified business hours. They will be Monday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 virus and gathering restrictions, we are unable to say farewell to Fr. Hahn in the way we would like. You can send him a private message, you may do so by sending to the rectory at 122 Church Street.
Thank you to the Catholic Foundation! We recently received a grant from the Catholic Foundation to purchase equipment to live-stream the Masses. You may have noticed a much better viewing experience because of this. We thank them for helping us to reach our parishioners who are at home even after the COVID-19 restrictions disappear. Please consider donating to the Catholic Foundation or allowing them to assist you with your planned giving. You can contact them at 614-443-8893.
Attention all Catholic young men entering 9th-12th grade. Do you know where your life is going? The Lord Jesus has a great plan for you! Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Divine Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who
roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
The Bishop Flaget office has opened back up if you are in need of any assistance. Our hours through the rest of June will be Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Please feel free to call with any issues at 740-774-2970. Thank you for your continued support of Bishop Flaget School! We were fortunate to receive a Payroll Protection loan to help in these times, but we have felt a hit due to the loss of Bingo and our biannual dinner auction. We are also still $100,000.00 away from our HVAC goal. We ask that you continue your prayerful support of our school community. If you are able to donate, you may do so through bishopflaget.org or through the school office. Due to possible social distancing guidelines when we return to school in the fall, we are looking to hire aides as well as substitute aides and teachers. All employees must have Protecting God's Children, and a recent background check. Aides must have a high school diploma while substitute teachers must have a Bachelor's Degree. Any interested applicants may email Terrina Fahnestock at [email protected]. We still have openings through grade 5 if you are interested in sending your child to Bishop Flaget. Also, the EdChoice window opens back up on July 1st; meaning your child can possibly attend Flaget for free! Some classes are close to capacity, so please call if interested. We can be reached at (740) 774-2970.
