STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT:

“Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

Matthew 2:11

The image of the Magi kneeling before the infant Jesus and opening their treasure chests for Him is an image that we

should all try to follow each day. In gratitude for all that we have been given, we are called to generously share all of our gifts, not just the ones we pick and choose. God wants us to be generous with everything, but especially that one thing that means the most to you.

St. Paul Sunday/Holy Day Collections:

December 22nd & 29th & Jan 5th (Sat. & Sun. collections)- Will be reflected in the January 12th bulletin

St. Patrick Sunday/Holy Day Collections:

December 15th & December 22nd & December 29th & Jan 5th bulletin will be reflected in the bulletin on January 12th.

The Church observes January 5-11, as National Migration Week. The theme this year is “Promoting a Church and a World for All,” which is meant to “draw attention to the fact that each of our families have a migration story, some recent and others in the distant past. Regardless of where we are and where we came from, we remain part of the human family and are called to live in solidarity with one another.” (https://justiceforimmigrants.org/take-action/national-migration-week/) You may learn more about National Migration Week at our Bishops’ website: usccb.org.

The Twelve Days of Christmas end with the Feast of the Epiphany. However, Ordinary Time doesn’t begin until after next Sunday’s Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

St. Paul School will resume on Monday January 6. Religious Education resumes Sunday,

January 5th at 9:15 am.

Thank you for your support of our parishes. Thank you for your cookies, cards, wishes and gifts. God bless you for your faith and for your generosity.

With love, prayers, and gratitude,

Father Bob Edwards

Dear Friends,

Lord, every nation on earth will adore you!

- Psalm response

Happy Epiphany!

Epiphany reminds us that everyone, knowingly or unknowingly, is searching for God – the one whom the magi called the “newborn king of the Jews” (Matthew 2:2). On our journey we will encounter many kinds of people. We will learn to accompany one another in our search. We will learn from others, sometimes even from those who only pretend to be interested in our search. But we trust that God will be our ultimate guide who will lead us to our goal. Lord, give us joy on this day in which we honor the revelation of Jesus to the nations.

PRAYER FOR NEW YEAR

A New Year, Lord!

2020!

Give us vision to see the possibilities and the opportunities.

Make us able to pray in times of obstacles and smoothe sailing. Teach us to do good to others,

and to learn to love enough to forgive —

ourselves and others.

Help us listen with our hearts and speak the words you teach us.

Amen.
