Dear Friends,

September was bustling with activity! We took a large group to Cracker Barrel

and enjoyed a blue grass band at Rock Springs Nature Center. The Chevy

Museum was a wonderful event and so much bigger than we expected.

Unfortunately, the lake was too low for our 2nd pontoon boat trip, but we made up

for it with a fantastic fishing trip to Southside Country Club. We thank you for

joining in on our many activities. We are hoping to build up our numbers for art,

cooking/baking and darts. Let us know how we can make improvements!

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the cooler temps and the

opportunity to watch the farmers harvest their crops. Tanglewood’s annual

Harvest Celebration is Oct 21st. Invite your family to enjoy the warmth of the fire,

toasting marshmallows, and entertainment. This is a great time to welcome our

new residents. And, of course we’ll be decorating pumpkins this month!

Book Club is starting a new book in October! It’s our 3rd book by local author

Richard Peck, about life in Central Illinois in the 30’s & 40’s. Dana reads aloud

and brings the characters to life. One final note - Don’t forget to get your flu shot

on Wednesday Oct. 11 at 12:45. Protect yourself for the winter!
