Old Testament Reading: Daniel 12:1-3 “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your
people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there
was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered,
everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. And many of those
who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and
some to shame and everlasting contempt. And those who are wise shall shine
like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness,
like the stars forever and ever.
P This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.
Epistle: Hebrews 10:11-25
Every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices,
which can never take away sins.
But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down
at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be
made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all
time those who are being sanctified.
And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, “This is the
covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will
put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” then he adds, “I
will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Where there is
forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by
the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the
curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the
house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with
our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with
pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he
who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love
and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. P This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God. Stand Alleluia and Verse: Page 156 P The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the 13th chapter.
C Glory to You, O Lord. (sung)

Holy Gospel: Mark 13:1-13 As [Jesus] came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look,
Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!”
And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be
left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
And as he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James
and John and Andrew asked him privately, “Tell us, when will these things be,
and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?”
And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray. Many will
come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray. And when
you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place,
but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines.
These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you
will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for
my sake, to bear witness before them. And the gospel must first be proclaimed
to all nations. And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be
anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that
hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. And brother will deliver
brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against
parents and have them put to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s
sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
P This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C Praise to You, O Christ. (sung)

THE BOARD OF EVANGELISM is seeking donations for the video
recording system for our church services. Anyone interested can contact Rod
Elbert at [email protected] or call 320-894-6882 for more info. The total cost
of the project is approximately $7,500. We have already raised $1,000. This
would allow us to have our services on the local cable channel and have them
live-streamed over the internet.
“FOR BY A SINGLE OFFERING he has perfected for all time those who
are being sanctified.” Our Lord Jesus has provided the one offering for sin. What
we offer to the Lord is not a sacrifice for sin; we cannot buy our way into heaven
with our money, works, or effort. Rather, what we give to the Lord’s work in the church is a thank offering, a sign of our dependence on God and all He has given
us. (Heb. 10:14)
YOUTH NIGHT (GRADES 8-12): Saturday, November 17th, 6:30-8:00

GLOBAL HEALTH OUTREACH: Hello, my name is Walker Tordsen, a
2013 graduate of St. Paul Lutheran School in Fairmont and a 2017 Fairmont
High School graduate. I am currently in my second year at the University of
Minnesota College of Biological Sciences majoring in Biochemistry with a
focus in Pre-Medicine. This past summer while shadowing local physicians I
was invited to participate in a medical mission trip, this summer, May 25th
through June 2nd, in San Marcos de Colon, Honduras. Global Health Outreach
provides medical services to underrepresented communities lacking opportunity
to basic medical needs, while also sharing the word of God with them. I am
asking that you would pray for myself and the safety of the team along with
considering being part of my financial support team. The cost of the trip is
$3,000. If you have any questions about the trip or would like to discuss it, you
can reach me at [email protected] or 507-848-7571. Thank you for your
support.
THE FAIRMONT EARLY RISERS KIWANIS CLUB will be holding
its 41st Annual Pancake Supper in the Five Lakes Centre Mall on Monday,
November 26th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The all-you-can-eat cost is $8.00 per adult
and $4.50 for children under 10 (at the door). Presale prices are $7.00 per adult
and $4.00 for children under 10. This is their annual fundraiser to help promote
their Koats for Kids, Bike Safety Rodeo, Fishing Derby, Dollars for Scholars,
Lakeview Bingo, and many other community and youth focused projects. They
will also be collecting any cell phones and computer print cartridges you may
wish to see properly disposed.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NEWS: Winter is fast approaching and
HFH is making good progress on their current home at 313 N. Orient Street in
Fairmont. The carpenters will soon be wrapping up their technical work in the
house, which means they will be able to begin scheduling work groups at the
house. They work on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and can work any evenings
that people would like to schedule. Right now sheetrock is being hung, and there is much to do! They will also soon need people who know how to tape and mud,
and after that — painting! The house is large, for a family of nine, so there are
many rooms needing work. The homeowner family currently lives in a two-
bedroom trailer, so we need to keep working to finish their home. Groups of any
size can be accommodated. Please call Staci Thompson, 526-2500, or email her
at [email protected] with any questions or to reserve a work day.

INVOCATION: “In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Let all say, “AMEN!” CONFESS the Apostles’ Creed. RECITE the Verse of the Week: 2 Peter 1:21—For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. PRAY the Psalm of the Week: Ps. 130:1-6 READ from Small Catechism—The Lord’s Prayer—Introduction & First Petition (Pre+) Our Father who art in heaven. (1st+) What does this mean? With these words God tenderly invites us to believe that He is our true Father and that we are His true children, so that with all boldness and confidence we may ask Him as dear children ask their dear father. (Pre+) Hallowed be Thy name. (2nd+) What does this mean? God’s name is certainly holy in itself, but we pray in this petition that it may be kept holy among us also. (3rd+) How is God’s name kept holy? God’s name is kept holy when the Word of God is taught in its truth and purity, and we, as the children of God, also lead holy lives according to it. Help us to do this, dear Father in heaven! But anyone who teaches or lives contrary to God’s Word profanes the name of God among us. Protect us from this, heavenly Father!
