HOPE WITH THE POPE
For the last three years the Archdiocese of Philadelphia had worked tirelessly to make the Visit of our Holy Father Francis a historical one. It was indeed historic in every sense of the word. The weekend was a unique spiritual blessing for all people who were present with Pope Francis on the Parkway and those who watched him on TV. The “aha” moments are now over. The Pope has gone back to Rome. The dust has settled. Now the million dollar question is WHAT IS NEXT?
!I think the success of this visit is not what happened that weekend but what will continue to happen. In this pursuit the School had invited our Super Hero, Deacon Matt, to talk to the students of the 7th and 8th grades on October 1st. Deacon Matt, being inspired by the pope, inspired the students. To bring the session for a mean-ingful conclusion the students were asked to take a moment of silence and search for an answer to the question WHERE DID
THE POWER COME FROM FOR THIS SPIRITUAL RENEWAL?
!The first student who responded after the silence said GOD. What a wonderful and meaningful answer. Sometimes we focus our at-tention on external and emotional aspects so much that we miss reality. That is why Confucius once said, “When a wise man points at the moon, the imbecile examines the finger.” Pope Francis was a pointer. He directed us towards the reality of God. Pope Francis has emptied himself so fully that God finds a place to abide in him. He is an instrument in the hand of God. We cannot hide or refute this fact. In a culture that works tirelessly to deny the existence of God, and a society that finds fault and shame as the true nature of the Cath-olic Church, Pope Francis’ visit has proved beyond any doubt that Jesus Christ is God and Savior of the world and it is He who rules and guides the Catholic Church. Every Catholic should be proud and hold their head high in Joy and Freedom. The pride of being a Catholic is not an arrogant boasting but a way of life. All that we are, we think and do is motivated by our Faith. Our faith teaches that family is not a roof over our heads but a communion of hearts. Each of us should continuously and con-sciously find time and energy to invigorate OUR FAITH AND OUR
FAMILY LIFE. Some of the ways we could try to do this are6666666
!Regular Family prayers!Recepon of Sacraments as a Family!Family reading and reflecng on the Word of God!Serving the elderly and sick of our families !Searching for the ways and means to serve God as a

The outpouring of those spending time before the Blessed

overwhelming. May we continue to present ourselves before

If you haven’t yet begun to spend some time with
the Lord on a Monday….it’s never too late to
begin.
Adult Faith Formation - Conversion Series
! This fall we are excited to present “Conversion.” This series reflects upon six biblical stories of conversion, demonstrating how six ordi-nary people, just like you, were met by Jesus where they were and called to a better life through Him. The refection will be offered on Wednesday nights beginning on October 14. Mark your calendars and prepare for a deep encounter with our Lord Jesus. Contact Dan Milani for more information [email protected] or call the parish office 610-647-2345 ext. 120.!

"Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you
will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me." At
that statement his face fell, and he went away sad, for
he had many possessions. Jesus looked around and said
to his disciples, "How hard it is for those who have
wealth to enter the kingdom of God!" Mk 10:21c23 !

takes a deep dive into those core questions that we need
to wrestle with to experience all that God has for us. For
example: What is the role of the Holy Spirit in my life? How
can I conquer my fears? Why do we suffer? What are the
limits to Christ's forgiveness? How and why should I pray?
Keeping in Balance- Designed for those who have al-
ready completed WWP's foundational course.
KIB explores biblical ways that we can manage life's pace
and pressures while living with calm and steadiness.
Do you feel pulled in many directions? Do you find it’s diffi-
cult to balance the demands on your time and in managing
the details of your life? Then KIB is the course for you!.... For more info: www.walkingwithpurpose.com or contact [email protected]
