ST. MINA - THE WONDER WORKER

• Father was a rich Governor, loved by the people

• Mother loved God, but had no children

• Sad seeing other children, prayed before St. Mary’s icon

• A voice saying: "Amen”• The Lord gave them a son, they

named him “Mina” (Amen)• At 14 yrs old, both parents

died

ST. MINA - THE WONDER WORKER• Made governor, joined the army• Even though rich, devoted life to

praying & fasting• Everyone ordered to worship idols• Went to desert, saw heaven open &

martyrs with beautiful crowns• Returned to the city, confessed his

faith & was martyred• Sister took body on a ship• Sea beasts attacked the ship, fire

came from St. Mina’s body burned beasts

ST. MINA - THE WONDER WORKER• Lord commanded for camel to

carry body to burial place• Governor took the Saint’s body in

battle, he won over his enemies• Governor tried to move body, 2

camels refused to move• Diseased sheep healed • Emperor’s leprous daughter

healed• Many other miracles• Pope Kyrillos 6th was a very close

friend of St. Mina!

• On the way home, He was missing – parents returned to look

• He was sitting in temple, listening & asking questions
