SecretaryFounder

“vOj;jwptpj;jtd; ,iwtd;” is a proverb in Tamil. This proverb puts the person who has been instrumental in transforming an illiterate into a literate on a pedestal of immortals to be honoured and revered. Our founder “Kalvi Rathna” Late Ln. Dr. V. Michael., M.I.S.T.E., Ph.D (USA) deserves the due homage of immortals for he lives and reigns in the hearts of many through his service by education.

He founded the St. Michael Educational and Charitable Trust in the year 1985 with a vision to offer quality based technical education to those who were deprived due to poverty, social status and many other such factors.

He has been the eye opener for many who lived in the darkness of illiteracy. His ardent desire was to give back to the society that nurtured him. He wanted to offer quality technical education at an affordable cost and to be accessible to the ones who come from rural background. This noble cause has

given birth to the first engineering

institution “St. Michael College

of Engineering and Technology”

in Kalayarkoil, a rural place in

Sivaganga district. His boldness

to venture into untrodden path

made him to sacrifice a lot but at

last gained the shield of satisfaction

and honour.

Our founder has got more than

three decades of experience in the

field of education. His experience

along with his patience helped

him towards perfection in all his

endeavours. He has received

many awards not only for the

act of education but also for the

fact of being a philanthropist

extending his service to the

organizations immersed in social

service. He himself had introduced

scholarships and fee waiver

schemes to the students who

excelled in their studies.

He was indeed like a lighthouse

to those who were scattered in

the sea of illiteracy. He has ignited

many young minds with education

and moral values.

Mrs. Fatima Michael is one of

the trust members of St. Michael

Educational and Charitable Trust.

She is the Secretary of the Trust.

Her contribution to the educational

institutions is immense. She renders

her service to the society through

the ministry of education. She has

relentlessly worked hard with the

Founder and whatever she has

lost in alter of sacrifice has been

reimbursed in the form of educational

institutions. She has definitely been

the first person to set a trend to set

up educational institutions in rural

background.

Many who have lost in the

wilderness of illiteracy found

their shelter in the oasis of

St. Michael. Our Secretary with her

mellowed experience embedded by

the virtue of patience has paved way

for perfection.

St. MICHAEL COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

aim is to teach students to LEARN, not

just STUDY. Hence, we strive to travel

beyond the boundaries of mere books.

We have realized that the future is

abstract and unknown but the youth in

our hands are real and can be moulded.

Dear students, “You are the nation-

builders. You are the movers of

technology. You are the agents of

change.” It is our fervent hope that the

years that you spend in St. Michael would

enable you to equip with leadership and

managerial skills. The knowledge that

you will gain, the fine qualities that you

will imbibe and the technical skills that

you will learn to apply will be your major

Chairman

Dear Students,

“We cannot always build the future

for our youth,

but we can build our youth

for the future.”

- Franklin D. Roosevelt

These words by Franklin D. Roosevelt

perfectly describe our aim at St. Michael

College of Engineering and Technology.

Beyond providing a sound education,

we wish to provide our students a

holistic learning experience for life. Our

contribution to your parents, to society,

and to the nation.

We invest our trust on you. You are our

safe source and we bank all our efforts

on you. We create not the future instead

we craft you for the future. There are

strong challenges to great efforts but,

always remember, great effort bears the

sweet fruit of success. We want you to

taste the fruit of success once and for

the rest of your life, you will never rest.

“You don’t have to be great to start,

but you have to start to be great.”

Best wishes.

These words by Anthony de Mello perfectly describe our aim at St. Michael College of Engineering and Technology. We do not simply teach you how to make a living instead; we prepare you how to live. In other words, we mould you as job givers and not as job seekers. Our extra curriculum combined with academic syllabus makes sure that what we profess is achieved during your stay with us.

There is a maxim which clearly depicts our ardent desire about the future of students admitted in our college. We prefer not to toil for the momentary pleasure rather we strive hard for permanent treasure. We do not feed the students with mere facts and knowledge instead; we motivate our students to be

the source of knowledge themselves. It has been possible by a team of our staff who mould themselves first, before they mould the students. They demonstrate what they teach and they live what they profess. In other words, our staffs are living examples and best role models who inspire the students.

We achieve what we boldly say by partnering with our students. Yes, students are our partners in our mission to make them entrepreneurs. Our main job is not to get them jobs instead; facilitate them to provide jobs.

So, give us a chance to make your ward a Lord to make your future glad.

Best wishes.

Vision - To equip our students to face the future challenges in technological developments and deliver the bounties of frontier knowledge for the benefit of human kind.
