For those of you who are new to the school, it is a great, family event. We still need some volunteers to fill some slots during the event. We will get underway at 3:00 and finish up at 6:30. As some of you may remember, Kent Smith, husband of our wonderful PreK 4 teacher, Joanne, underwent treatment three years ago for kidney cancer. It would seem that the cancer has metastasized to his lungs. He is currently undergoing aggressive treatment. Mrs. Smith and I agree that her first priority during this time is to support Kent. In order to give the children in her class more consistency, we are going to finish the year with Mrs. Wyborney and Mrs. Heine taking the lead in the classroom. I know that the Smith family would appreciate your prayers and I will be speaking with them about what other ways we can support them during this time. One of the things that I spoke about during the State of the School meeting and in the Bell last week was my dream to put more technology into the hands of the students in grades K-3. In order to do that we need to purchase 10 new laptops. Since that time, I have had a very generous set of parents come forward with a challenge. They have agreed to purchase one new laptop for the lower unit. They are also challenging two other families (or groups of families) to purchase laptops for the lower unit. If more gen- erous individuals come forward, the first family will match those purchases for 2 more computers! The cost of a laptop for the lower unit is $350. Won’t you consider making a donation or joining with other families to help make this dream a reality? Dear Parents,

We will be using the convenient services of SchoolKidz, Inc. and their Teacher Tailored®

back‐to‐school supply kit program. Why fight long lines trying to find every single re‐quested item on your child’s supply list? Let us do the shopping for you!

SchoolKidz, Inc. offers brand name items, such as Crayola®, Fiskars® and Elmer’s® and Staples. Each item is chosen by the teachers and is exactly what is on your child’s supply list. Best of all, the entire package comes in a reusable personalized kit.

This program will save you time, making “back‐to‐school time” less hectic and more en‐joyable for both students and parents. We believe you will find the pricing to be very rea‐sonable.  All kits will be delivered to the school prior to the first day of school and can be picked up at the Ice Cream Social or on the first day of school.
