EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
During the COVID-19 pandemic, let us continue to pray for one another during
this difficult time. We need to keep in our prayers those who have died, those who
are sick, the medical personnel, and first responders who are tending to the sick.
We pray, too, that the virus be contained and that a vaccine be developed soon.

EASTER GREETINGS
Although we live in unprecedented times,
we cannot let it dampen the joy of the
Resurrection. We want to extend to you and
through you to your families and friends, our
prayerful best wishes for a blessed and
happy Easter. May the joy of the
Resurrection remain with you throughout the year.
EASTER FLOWERS
Although we have a smaller number of
plants due to the uncertainty of being able
to secure them (we were only able to do so
this past Tuesday), we are grateful to those
who have made donations in memory of loved ones for the
Easter flowers which will adorn our beautiful altar during
the Easter season. Envelopes may be found in your budget
packet. If you would like to donate but don’t use the
budget envelopes then please place your donation in an
envelope and mark it “Easter Flowers”. Thank you very
much!
RICE BOWLS
If you have participated in this Lenten
program, we ask that you hold onto the
Rice Bowls until the Church is reopened. In
the alternative, you can deposit the amount in your account
and mail a check to the Parish Office for the total. Simply
mark the check “CRS Rice Bowl”. We thank you for
participating in this wonderful program.

will continue to tape the daily Mass and the weekend

SCOUTING AT ST. MARY’S
Scouts BSA (Troop 51) &
Cub Scout Pack 7
Did you know that St. Mary’s sponsors Scout Troops and a
Cub Scout Pack for the entire family? Scouting is for both
boys and girls now. The mission of Scouts BSA is to
prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices
over their lifetimes…and they do this through fun and
challenging activities that promote character development
and physical fitness. Programs are Kindergarten - 12th
grade. Email [email protected] for information
about joining Scouting.
WARNING - FR. MIKE’S CONTACTS
HAVE BEEN HACKED
A number of parishioners have received email messages
claiming to come from me and in the past they have asked
for gift cards. THIS IS A FRAUDALENT REQUEST.
Please DO NOT RESPOND TO THE EMAIL OR TEXT
but report it as “phishing” to your email and/or phone
provider. I regret this development but we have learned
that there is little that can be done now (although we are
still researching this). If you have any question as to
whether a message is authentic or not, please contact the
rectory. Fr. Michael

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Sharing The Word Of God In
Our Parish Family And Our Homes
It is wonderful to hear how many families are using the
“Question of the Week” to discuss the readings at Mass on
the way home from church or around the dinner table. How
about trying it with your family?
Read Today’s Gospel: Mt 28:1-10
Question for Adults: Name one was or time when you
experience the presence of the Risen Christ? Is it at meals? With
those whom you love? At other times?
Question for Youth: Jesus’ closest friends had trouble believing
that the tomb was empty. Resurrection is surprising. What does
Jesus’ resurrection mean in your life?
Question for Children: When have you seen someone do a good
deed for someone else?
BAPTISMS
Anyone who would like to make arrangements for a
baptism is asked to see Fr. Mike after Mass. Baptisms are
held every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month.

St. Mary’s Conference - Mansfield
THE RESURRECTION
OF THE LORD
“They did not yet understand” (John 20:9)
Happy Easter! Christ is risen!
Sin is defeated, and death has lost its sting! The long years of
waiting and hoping have finally come to an end, yet Mary
Magdalene thinks He’s been stolen. Peter is stunned by the
empty tomb and John begins to believe, but he still leaves the
scene unsatisfied. Where’s the joy? The disciples “did not yet
understand” the Scripture that He had to rise from the dead. The
disciples still have to meet the risen Lord, and when they do,
that’s when the joy comes in!
Today at Mass, whether in person, online or by television, we
will sing “Alleluia!” before the Gospel reading, and we will hear
how “on this day...above all” it is right and just to praise Jesus
“more gloriously” than at any other time of the year. Imagine
how great, how deep, and how glorious your rejoicing will be as
you come to meet the risen Lord in Holy Communion, in person
or spiritually. Imagine what will happen as you come seeking a
personal encounter with Him, an encounter with his love and
grace. Christ is risen for you! He has overcome sin for you! He
has opened heaven for you! Take hold of these gifts and watch
as your heart is filled with joy! (The Word Among Us, Easter 2020)
The Vincentians of the St. Mary’s Conference wish you
and your family a wonderful Easter!
Lord Jesus, help us to remember those who are poor
and hungry to “see and believe” in the Resurrection.
