The 2018 Summer Reading Program was filled with many fun activities, crafts, and performers provided by

the St. Mary Parish Library! We had such a fantastic time with everyone that attended. You played such a big

role in making this summer a success. The St. Mary Parish Library system would like to thank everyone who

BOOK CLUB BAYOU VISTA BRANCH

YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB

The Bayou Vista Book Club for Young Adults will meet on

August 30th at 5:30 P.M. to discuss the book “All The

Truth That’s In Me,” by Julie Berry.

Four years ago, Judith and her best friend

disappeared from their small town of Roswell Sta-

tion. Two years ago, only Judith returned, perma-

nently mutilated, ignored by those who were once

her friends and family. Unable to speak, Judith

lives like a ghost in her own home, silently pouring

Roswell Station is attacked, long-buried secrets come to

ADULT BOOK CLUB

The Patterson Branch Adult Book Club will meet on Thursday,

August 16, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. The title for discussion will be

“Endurance: A Year in Space, A Lifetime of Discovery” by

Scott Kelly.

Scott Kelly has experienced things very few have. He

describes navigating the extreme challenge of

long-term spaceflight, both life-threatening and

mundane: the devastating effects on the body; the

isolation from everyone he loves and the comforts of

Earth; the catastrophic risks of colliding with space

junk; and the still more haunting threat of being unable to help

should tragedy strike at home--an agonizing situation Kelly faced

when, on a previous mission, his twin brother's wife, American

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, was shot while he still had two

months in space.

YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB The Berwick Branch Adult Book Club will meet on Friday,

August 31st at 4:00 P.M. we will be discussing the book

“Upside Down In The Middle Of Nowhere,” by Julie T. Lamana.

Armani Curtis can think about only one thing: her tenth

The West End Branch Adult Book will meet on Tuesday, August 21st

at 4:30 P.M. We will be discussing the book,

“Sandcastles ,” by Luanna Rice.

Some things, like sandcastles, don’t survive the changing tides. But

love, family, and friendship–just as fragile–have a way of standing

against anything. It will take nothing short of a miracle

to heal the rift between father and daughter, husband

and wife, the past and the present–but a miracle is
