FROM THE PASTOR
Praise the Lord my soul, Alleluia (Psalm 146). The readings today on this 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, is
about the concern for the poor and the helpless. God has a spe-
cial love for them. God’s law ordains that those who have earth-
ly riches should be mindful of the poor.
The first reading from the prophet Amos, God’s judgement is
spoken against those who ignore the poor. The Israelite did not
usually heed God’s word. Concerns for the poor and the help-
less carries out through today’s Gospel of Luke. Jesus told the
story about the poor man Lazarus and the rich man who do not
even considered Lazarus existence.
The rich man comforts in the complacency of his abundance and
worldly allure. God loves the poor. Those who consider the
needs of the poor in the earthly life will receive abundance and
consolation in the age to come. Similarly, those who refuse to
show mercy to those in need will be punished forever.
When we do not consider the poor and the helpless in our lives,
we created the chasm of ignorance and divisiveness that elimi-
nate the goodness that God in His goodness created us. We are
created for the purpose to love, to praise and glorify our Al-
mighty God by revealing of His goodness through us to all our
brothers and sisters. God hears the cry of the poor and He at-
tends through their needs through us His beloved people. What
really stood out is the rich man in today’s Gospel ignored the
poor man, Lazarus, ever existed. There is no room for love in
his (rich man) heart. Therefore, when we give in abundance to
help others, we praise and bless our awesome and amazing God
with His goodness in us. God bless.
ROSE FESTIVAL—OCTOBER 5-6, 2019 Our first Rose Festival is at the corner next week! Please, we
need the help of our whole parish and friends to assist us with
these two days of our Festival. Please, sign-up to assist with
families and friends and varieties of activities we need your help
with.
The sign-up sheet is located at Fr. Francis Sysol’s lower nar-
thex. Visit our website at stmarymysticalrose.org and our FA-
CEBOOK stmarymysticalrose.org. Together, we work together
with our families and friends in works of faith to support our
parish fundraising. God bless you all and all our friends. Thank

CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL (CSA) Our theme for this Sunday regarding helping the poor is one of
the major assistance why your help to the CSA is needed. It
helps finance those who cannot afford tuition at the seminary,
whether those who would like to pursue vocation to the priest-
hood, permanent deaconate, laity in ministries, finance pro-
grams for the Sacraments and education, charity works for the
poor in Southeast Michigan, to name a few.
Our St. Mary Mystical Rose CSA target is $23,218.00, and
each and every family of our parish are generous by donating
something to it. You really make a difference in donating to this
annual appeal of our Archdiocese. God blesses a generous giver
and a generous heart. Have a wonderful week!

Mass for Commerce
October 23, 2019 | 8:00 a.m. | Sacred Heart Major Seminary |
2701 Chicago Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48206
Join the Southeast Michigan business and professional communi-ty celebrating the Eucharist in thanksgiving for God’s gifts of
love. Bring a Colleague!
The Mass for Commerce is an opportunity for the Catholic busi-
ness community to spread the hope and joy that comes from
knowing Jesus Christ in the sharing of the Eucharist.
Participants in the Mass for Commerce seek the guidance of the
Holy Spirit and their Catholic faith in their personal and commer-
cial dealings. This is not just for business owners and executives,
but for anyone who is in the workplace and affected by the econ-omy. Following the celebration of the Mass, we gather for break-
fast at the Seminary for fellowship as well as networking. This is
an opportunity to take time out of your busy work week to cele-
brate our faith and share our fellowship. In good times and in
difficult times, the constant for the Catholic business community
is the teachings of the Gospel.
As a Catholic involved in business, please bring several of your
colleagues and business associates to pray for your business, the
Southeast Michigan business community, and the general econo-
my.
