Jesus explains all the different receptions the words of Christ receive: indifference, fleeting interest, interested in the moment but with no root, and then the rich soil…the soil and life that allows Christ’s words to penetrate their very soul, allowing it to nourish their very words and actions causing their lives to bear much fruit for the Lord and for those touched by their life. SPRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament,

I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now, receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Prayer for Safety of All in Agriculture

Blessed Mary, Mother of God, and great Saint Joseph, you protected and kept safe the Divine Child, Jesus. We ask your special intercession and protection of all who work in Agriculture, especially on the farm. Man, having been cast out of the Garden of Eden, must now work by the sweat of his brow to get food to eat as you foretold in Genesis. And he must also battle fatigue, danger, and accidents. Protect all in agriculture against these and all danger and evil, so that when they complete their work each day and each season, they return to your altar and their families whole and entire to love and honor You and the ones you have given them all the days of their lives. We ask through the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED! We are still in need of volunteers,

especially Ushers. We will accept any age including Jr High, HS, or

college students as long as you feel comfortable to do so. Please call

the office at 594-2225 or email [email protected]. We cannot

thank you enough in advance for your willingness to aide in this

process. Thank you, Tiffany

Liturgy for the Week…

Vocation Corner: “When I was 8, I penned a rhyme that listed 12 things I liked. Reading it as an adult, I was delighted that “people” had made the list - and disappointed that “ice cream” had not. The verse ended, “I like God the best.” Even then, the Lord was inviting me to be his own. I was grateful to my family for giving me the gift of faith. After graduating from college, I served the Church full time for 11 years. I thought I had found my mission to active ministry…” But gradually, in the quiet intimacy of adoring Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, he revealed the difference between doing God’s work and fulfilling his will. Gently, he invited me to embrace a contemplative vocation. “ Sr. John Mark Maria Poor Clare of Perpetual Adoration, Tonopab,AZ.

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“But some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty fold….” Matt: 13:8

A brilliant orange flower is growing on, or rather, in our front porch. It appears to be rooted in the pavement. Its stem leans alongside a fracture of a small cement retaining wall. While improbable, there is no denying that seed fell and that it is now blooming and bright with color.

A flower growing in circumstances defying logic and probability makes me think about the still deeper power of God’s word that is scattered on different terrains. I pray that my heart be good soil, where I listen and understand so that the word takes hold and pushes through to fullness and beauty – knowing that sometimes my heart is also a terrain that defies logic.

Do I look at the world with that same desire and faith in the power of God’s word? Do I see neighbor, stranger, the familiar and the distinct, as places where this seed might well thrive? As people who strive to understand with the heart, we have no idea in which places the word and its beauty will take hold. May the word take hold wildly and freely in this fractured world so that something extraordinary blooms…by grace, rather than logic or probability. – Sr. Kimberly M. King, RSCJ

Let us bloom and grow. Peace & good, Fr. George
