Carlyle K of C Council 1382 meengs—2nd Tuesday of month 7:30pm Carlyle KC Hall Chicken and Fish Fry every Friday from 4:30pm-7pm. Dine in or carry out. Vocaon Corner–This coming week we celebrate our nation’s day of Thanksgiving. We give thanks for all the gifts God has bestowed on us. Each one of us has been given a unique calling to holiness. Each one is to serve the Lord in her/his own “called” way. A calling is asking us to use our talents for God and in service to those to whom we are called. Respect Life Corner- In Matthew’s Gospel, Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus talks to his disciples in the form of a simple story: a shepherd separating animals at the end of the day in the Middle East. The sheep and goat tend to mingle easily with one another -until the end. The sheep represent those who will share eternal life with Christ, the goats represent those who will suffer eternal punishment. Jesus tells the disciples that however you treated the least of people, you treated me. This highlights the significance that we are Jesus’s arms, his voice, his heart and we are his co-workers in the kingdom on earth. Learn, Act, Connect and Pray- let’s use this time to examine our lives as we listen to the readings that represent the end of the Liturgical year. How are we doing? Are we providing for those who are in prison by writing letters of encouragement through our diocese pen pal ministry through Prison Ministry? Are we getting involved in Respect Life efforts in our diocese to help the abortion vulnerable as well as the marginalized? We must look at and respect the dignity of all human life -in every stage and situation- and then we will know we are working for Christ. SPRITUAL COMMUNION

    My Jesus,

I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now, receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace you as if you were already there,

And unite myself wholly to you.

Never permit me to be separated from you.

    Amen.

Prayer for Safety of All in Agriculture

Blessed Mary, Mother of God, and great Saint Joseph, you protected and kept safe the Divine Child, Jesus. We ask your special intercession and protection of all who work in Agriculture, especially on the farm. Man, having been cast out of the Garden of Eden, must now work by the sweat of his brow to get food to eat as you foretold in Genesis. And he must also battle fatigue, danger, and accidents. Protect all in agriculture against these and all danger and evil, so that when they complete their work each day and each season, they return to your altar and their families whole and entire to love and honor You and the ones you have given them all the days of their lives. We ask through the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

I greet you on behalf of your sister parish in Jutiapa. You

may have heard that recently a hurricane has caused

flooding and damage in Guatemala. Fortunately, Jutiapa did

not receive much damage from the storm. Your sister parish

may be suffering in other ways though. You may want to

reach out and check on your sister parish, if you have not

already. Covid-19 has not allowed our sister parishes to

have Mass with the public for over 7 months now. You can

imagine how difficult this has been on the priests and people

of your sister parish. You must also realize that the priests

of Jutiapa do not get paid and rely on their parishioners for

support. It is truly a struggle for our brothers and sisters in

Jutiapa. I realize that many are going through difficult

times, here and there, but it is in our shared faith that we

can find peace. I ask that you remember your sister parish in

your prayers, as they remember us.

I hope and pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for all of you,

    Shelly Sands

Please join us for our St. Mary, Carlyle Drive Thru Pork Chop Dinner this Sunday. 11am till 2pm. Parish Center North side black top. Carryout only. $10.00/dinner. Extra pork chops $5.00/each. Entrance to the parking lot will be from the East on Clinton St.

    Hello,

We welcome Graham Phillip Palm (Parents: Matt and Katelyn) through the sacrament of Baptism this Sunday. Let us join her parents and sponsors by being great examples of faith for Graham and all of our children.

Congratulations to Bill and Sherry Wysocki as they celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary this week (November 24th). We’ll give them a blessing at the 10am Mass this Sunday.

We extend our sympathy to the families of Randy Peek (Nancy Schomaker’s brother), Steve Voss (Matt & Chad’s brother) and Dr. James Tarter (Mary Ann Diekemper’s son-in-law).

We will have the Thanksgiving Day Mass @ 7:30AM. Please sign up for the Mass or call in at the office if you are going to join us. Again, if you wish to bring food item to be blessed from your Thanksgiving Day table, please do. See you there if you’re able.

Because of our need to add liturgies – especially as we look ahead to Christmas – please help us out and read the paragraph that follows and respond as you are able. Even though St. Teresa, Marydale, does have an 8am Sunday morning liturgy, we still need volunteers for greeting, ushering and sanitizing the Church. Please sign up to help us out, especially all of you who are not compromised health-wise or age-wise. Each crew would consist of 3 ushers and 2 sanitizers. Clean up takes 10-15 minutes and is pretty simple. Any questions, please call Tiffany.

To view the “on line” Mass @ St. Mary, Carlyle, which will be “live streamed” this Saturday @ 4pm, simply go to the parish web site and look under helpful links. If you need help signing up, call the parish office. We will continue to “live stream” until further notice. You can also view the Mass every Sunday on Channel 11 @ 8:30am.

THANK YOU for supporting St. Mary through on-line giving, or mail or dropping off your envelope at the mailbox at the Parish Center or now at Church when attending. Remember to support St. Catarina in Guatemala. There is a box from Missions International about all sister parishes to the left of this column.

    Christ the King

“…whenever you did this for one of the least important, you did it for me.” - Matt. 25:40

Matthew’s Christ our King reminds us that the way we honor him is by taking care of the least of our brothers and sisters. And that is how we end the liturgical year. The call is clear that we treat the least among us with the dignity they share with us in our common humanity, AND that they are the Christ. How will we answer his question on our judgment day? It is He whom we serve in the least among us.

    Peace & good, Fr. George
