Divine Mercy Sunday April 19, 2020
We are still taking sign-ups for Adoration.
Please sign-up online or fill out one of the forms in the Church.
As soon as we resume a normal worship schedule and we have all the adorers that we need we will
try to restart adoration in the church.
For the sake of his sorrowful passion,
have mercy on us and
on the whole world.
Thomas believes Jesus has risen from the dead only
after he sees Jesus and places his fingers in his
wounds. We may not be able to place our hands
physically on Jesus every day, but we can see his
presence in those around us. How are we helping
others see Jesus today?
Dear Parishioners, April 15, 2020 With this current situation there are many unknowns which require adjustments to be made as we go along. Father
Kurtis wanted to update you on the different things happening at the Parish. Thank you for your patience as we
continue moving forward. Stay informed and connected to the Parish and to one another through Facebook (St.
Mary Catholic Church - Temple, TX) and the Parish website ([email protected]). Confessions are available by calling the Office to make an appointment. At your scheduled time, Fr. Kurtis will meet
you in the Church, in the Confessional behind the screen. Father asks that only those who need Confession ask for it
and those who are only fulfilling a regular habit of Confession wait till another time.
The Church will be open Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm for personal prayer but no organized event will be
held. We ask that no more than 5 people at a time gather in Church while maintaining at least a 6 ft. distance from
each other.
We will continue to take signups for Adoration. There is a need in the afternoons Mon - Sat. 1 -5 pm. See the chart
below. Sign up on-line or fill out a form in the Church and return it to the Office through the mail slot. We will resume
Adoration once we are back to a normal worship schedule and all the times are filled. Bulletins are now available to pick up in the back of Church or at the Parish Office. We have saved the palms from Palm Sunday and will distribute them at a later day and time.
We will continue to live stream Sunday Mass at 9:30 am followed by the Pastor’s update and reflection segment.
Daily Mass continues to be at 8:00 am Tuesday – Saturday. Thank you for your continued regular financial contribution to the Parish. You may drop off your contribution at the
Office mail it in or transition to Online giving which benefits the Parish in many ways: it allows us to measure on a
weekly & monthly basis how much we are receiving and what our deficits are, it is safer than cash or checks, it cuts
down on trips to the bank, and limits the handling of paper money and checks.
Unfortunately, we will be postponing the Parish Festival and Raffle, but rest assured we will be hosting them at a fu-
ture day and time yet to be determined. In the meantime, please turn into the Parish Office your sold Raffle tickets and money but keep selling any tickets you
still have. If you are done selling tickets, please turn in unsold tickets so someone else can sell them.
Continue to celebrate the Easter Season until Pentecost, by reading the Sunday and Daily Mass readings, watch
Mass on our Parish website or Facebook page, and discuss with your family the readings and take comfort in making
an Act of Spiritual Communion.
Families with children or teens who were to celebrate Sacraments this Spring, continue to prepare at home, so when
these restrictions are lifted, everyone is ready to celebrate with a full heart and Spirit.
For ALL Religious Education families, continue to read the Sunday readings posted at WWW.USCCB.COM , do the
activities at WWW.Pflaum.com and discuss the Sunday readings as a family.
Vacation Bible School 2020 Space Odyssey is still on for June 15th – 19th 9:00 am – 12:00 pm with early Drop off at
7:30 am & Late Pick up by 12:30 pm. Cost: $20/child. More information will be posted. Plan on attending (PreK-4 yrs.
old – 5th Grade) and Volunteering 6th Grade to adult. Many volunteers are needed, the more the merrier!! I will post
the registration forms online soon.
Until we meet again, continue to wash your hands, social distance and be loving and kind to one another.

Are you discouraged that you will not be able to receive the special graces of Divine Mercy Sunday promised
directly by our Lord through St. Faustina in the 1930s?
Don’t be.
Even though churches are closed and you cannot go to Confession and receive Holy Communion,
you can receive these special graces this Sunday, April 19, Divine Mercy Sunday.
You are called to pray at home!
