PRAYERS TO ST. MARTIN DE PORRES

PRAYER TO LIVE THE GOSPEL IN LIFE’S DAILY STRUGGLES I some-times feel bewildered and alone. So I turn to you, St. Martin, my friend and compan-ion, to intercede for me before God.

Please pray for (mention your inten-tion). Most of all, ask for the grace that I may live the Gospel. May God grant me your humility, Martin, so that I always do His will.

Dearest Father, in the name of your Son, Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, guide me as I face the challenges of life. Give me Martin’s sense of service so that I may be a blessing to all whom I meet. Amen.

PRAYER OF A BEARER OF THEGOOD NEWS O GRACIOUS GOD, you have given us a model of charity in St. Martin de Porres. May this humble brother, renowned for his care of the poor, the sick, and the lonely, inspire us to fol-low his example.

St. Martin, as a true son of St. Dominic, you proclaimed the Gospel in your every action. Even lowly animals knew your care. Intercede for us that we too may bring others to know Jesus Christ.

In our joys and sorrows, may your life remind us of the Father’s mercy, of our call to holiness in the Holy Spirit, and of our salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND CARE OF CREATION

ST. MARTIN DE PORRES, to you we lift up our hearts lled with both concern and con dence. Mindful of your unbounded care for all, we ask you to pray for our na-tion and world.

Implore the Father to pour out bless-ings of harmony and peace upon our socie-ty. Ask Jesus, the Son, to lead every nation along the path of reconciliation and justice. Petition the Spirit to inspire all peoples to cooperate in the renewal of the face of the earth.

Pray also, St. Martin, that the unborn may be protected and that the poor may prosper. We beseech your help in meeting these needs through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

PRAYER FOR SERENITY Most humble St. Martin, your burning charity embraced all, especially the sick, the a icted, and those in need. We turn to you in our present di culties seeking intercession. Please ask God on our behalf for this special request (mention a special need).

By imitating your submission to God’s will, may we have peace in our hearts. You served others without seeking any-thing for yourself except closeness to our cruci ed Lord. May we too nd intimacy with Jesus through care for the needy.

O God, you invited Martin de Porres into your heavenly Kingdom. Grant that through his merits and by his intercession we may follow his example. Give us the courage to address the problems that we face and the tranquility of spirit to accept as your will what cannot be changed. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the Spirit of power and love. Amen

PRAYER OF PETITION DEAR BROTHER MARTIN, you were led on the path to glory by the way of humility.

Our loving God looked kindly on your help to the weak, the sick, the su ering, and those in need.

Relying on your kindness, I bring to you this special peti-tion (name it silently). Please o er it to the Father, through the Son, and in the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saint Brendan School third grade students received their First Holy Communion on Sunday! Our students were so excited to receive this sacrament after a long awaited 4 months! The Mass was beautiful and our students and their families were so grateful to be able to experience this together. School is back in full swing! We started our lunch pro-gram last week as well as our specials. Students are ad-justing to our new normal with an enthusiastic outlook! Students in grades 4-6 are preparing for student council elections. Students running will give speeches on Friday and elections will be held right after. Stay tuned for re-sults!

This week’s special collection supports the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust (CHRT) which cares for the health and well-being of our active and senior priests in good standing. Whether it is within our parish communities, or in the community at large, our priests are making a difference every day. By supporting the special collection this weekend, you are helping to ensure that our priests receive the care they need to continue their important work.
