ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed
Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I
long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now
receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my
heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You
and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be
separated from You.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Sept. 20, 2020
Our talented violinist, Sandi Martineau, made me a face
mask with a quote I gave her, “How long, O Lord?” Quite a few
people indicated they liked it. Well, we waited for in-class
teaching, and we have started the new school year at
St. Margaret’s. Our combined prayers for the students, staff,
teachers, Ms. Flatley, and Mrs. Nunes as they start. There are
openings in some grades. Call the school office at 434-3228.
Today is Catechetical Sunday, and like schools, our program
has to adjust this year. Charlie Moreira (Grs. 7-10), Bethany
Bessette (Grs. 1-6), and Joan Cronin (Children’s Liturgy of the
Word on Sundays) are most dedicated. As they are blessed this
weekend we thank them for their great work especially during
these challenging days. Parents are their children’s first teachers
in the ways of faith. As the baptismal ritual says, “May they also
be the best of teachers in training their children in word and
deed.”
The Trustees and Finance Council recommended that we
forego the Annual Collection last year with our most positive
participation in the diocesan capital campaign, Grateful for God ’s
Providence. As we began a new fiscal year on July 1, the collection will
been restored to help with the unbudgeted needs of the parish. A
letter with the details is being mailed to all our families next
week. My sincere appreciation for your generous response
whenever special needs are presented. You have been most
supportive to the parish and to me. I will never forget it.
Looking ahead to October, it’s very timely to renew our
devotion to Mary, the Mother of the Church. Rosary and
Benediction will be celebrated on Thursdays at 7 PM with the
intention of praying for the health and protection of all our loved
ones and the world community. Combined with this, the Parish
Visitation Statue of Our Lady will commence. Families and
individuals are asked to consider inviting Mary “into their
home” and spending some daily prayer time with her. The
statue and laminated prayer cards with devotional prayers will
be properly sanitized after each visitation. The suitcase
containing the statue can be received on Saturday or Sunday
after Mass. Please return the suitcase to the parish office by 1 PM
on Friday.
These days are very different…. Transform them with family
and private prayer. Unlike the virus, it won’t harm you!!
