LUKE’S GROWING LEGACY OF GENEROSITY St. Luke has a long history of generosity for the cause of Christ. As the latest chapter in this storied history, I am pleased to announce that a most generous donor, working with the St. Luke Board of Trustees, has established The Reverend Helen Berenthien Memorial Fund. With an incredibly gracious initial gift, the fund has been setup for the purpose of maintaining and preserving St. Luke facilities, property and capital equipment for future ministry and mission. The terms of the fund allow our Board of Trustees maximum flexibility in caring for the needs of St. Luke. This gracious gift seeks to honor the memory and ministry of our beloved Helen Berenthien who served St. Luke as an Associate Pastor from 1991 until 2012, and continued to bless the life of our congregation in retirement until her death on August 25, 2017. Helen loved St. Luke Church! The Helen Berenthien Memorial Fund allows all who loved her one more opportunity to express their love by investing in the future ministry and mission of the church she loved and served. You can make a donation to the fund by simply directing your gift to St. Luke Church to the Berenthien Memorial Fund. As I share this news with you, I stop to thank God anew for Helen’s life and ministry and for the generosity of the donor who made this fund possible. Congratulations! In addition to all of our graduating seniors at St. Luke, we celebrate with two of our staff on completing new courses of study: To Jonathan Moore, Director of Student Ministries and Contemporary Worship, on receiving his Masters in Intercultural Studies and Church Planting from Asbury Theological Seminary. To Cindy Cox Garrard, Associate Pastor, on receiving her Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology.

ST. LUKE’S GROWING LEGACY OF GENEROSITY

St.

You may call the church at 706-327-4343 at any time or call the pastors at home! Thanks so much.

HOW DO I JOIN THE CHURCH?You may become a part of the St. Luke family of God in one of the following ways:1. If you have never joined a church before, you may become a member by profession of faith in Jesus Christ and by being baptized. If you have already been baptized (as a child or as an adult) in a Christian Church, your baptism is recognized by St. Luke United Methodist Church. You will be asked to uphold St. Luke church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. 2. If you are a member of another United Methodist Church or another Christian denomination, indicate to one of the pastors that this is your desire. St. Luke will then transfer your membership.3. If you have any questions about faith in Christ, about United Methodism in general or St. Luke in particular, please ask one of the pastors!

Dear Friends, Please consider this your personal invitation to become a part of the Music Ministry. There are choirs and instrumental groups for all ages and skill levels. Want to know more, please e-mail or call me at 706-256-2682. Today's anthem: (Sung in German) "Holy, holy, holy. Holy is the Lord! Holy is He Alone! He, who had no beginning, He, who always was, is forever and will reign eternally! Omnipotence, wonder, love, far and wide! Holy is the Lord!" Mark your calendars now for June 24, 4pm, in the Sanctuary, as we will have our first annual 'Great Afternoon of Methodist Singing.' This year's event will be a good old-fashioned hymn sing and we will be joined by other Methodist churches in the area and their choir members.
