EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because The

Lord has anointed me,” (Is 61:1). God anointed

everyone at conception with everything necessary to

survive until He recalls the spirit within us. Our calling is

to produce and give abundant fruit with the blessings

we received. He gave us life, and our lives should be

lived to glorify Him in everything we say or do. To

consider an appropriate use for what He has given us,

we only need to remember the parable of the silver

pieces (Mt 25: 14-30). Visit Jesus one hour weekly in the

Adoration Chapel. For questions, call Ken Green at

435-3886.

BEYOND CANA MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT RETREAT

— JANUARY 27-29, 2012 —

You love your spouse very much. There is no one you would rather spend time with, but over the past few years that time together has been filled with children, job pressures, holiday frenzy and just daily living. Consider this: a quiet weekend in the beautiful Texas Hill Country where you can spend quality time alone with your spouse and revitalize your marriage. You will learn to use effective communication tools in a spiritual, non-threatening setting.

Our Parish will hold a Beyond Cana Marriage Enrichment Retreat, January 27-29, in Boerne, TX.

For more information, or to register for the retreat, please contact Cherie or Frank Mueller at 862-5521 (hers) or 601-2818 (his), or email [email protected]. The Parish Office will also have brochures and registration forms.

has been contributed thus far since Nov. 7, 2011. This is towards our goal of partial sponsorship with St. Matthews Parish for our 2012 Habitat House.

Have you considered using a Habitat contribution as a tax write-off for 2011? Or do you have family or friends you would like to honor with a gift but don’t know what to give? Or would you like to honor a deceased family member or friend with a memorial contribution? If so, please keep in mind the St. Luke 2012 Habitat House. Please pick up an envelope in church office and

send your contribution to the office or in the Sunday collection. Jesus said: “I assure you, as often as you did it for one of my least brothers, you did it for me” (Mt 25 40). “...and I assure you, as often as you neglected to do it to one of these neglected ones, you neglected to do it to me” (Mt 25, 45). Please con-tinue to pray for the success of our 2012 Habitat pro-ject. Please refer any questions or comments to Sue or Homer Fetzer @434-5475.

FAITH, SPIRITUAL FORMATION, & FELLOWSHIP

THANK YOU! GRACIAS! What a beautiful community we have here at St. Luke! God has given all of us special gifts and treasures, and we are answering His call to serve our community and those in need. We want to thank all those who helped make the Nursing Home Angel Tree Program possible. Through your generous donations, and the donation from the Men’s Club, we were able to give a Christmas gift to 250 senior adult residents at the 4 nursing homes that we serve. With the help of many parishioners, including the Guadalupanos, Youth Ministry, Senior Ministry, Confirmation students, St. Luke Cheerleaders, St. Luke Middle School students, and our Prayer Blanket Ministry, we made a special prayer blanket for each resident. They were joyfully and anxiously received, with lots of smiles, laughter, a few tears of joy, and lots of gratitude. Thank you St. Luke for sharing the true meaning of Christmas with these residents and helping to make their Christmas bright!

ST. LUKE HOMEBOUND MINISTRY — A “BIG” thank you to our Young Adult Ministry, confirmation students, senior and youth ministries and St. Luke CYO program for your kindness and time in visiting and singing Christmas Carols to our Homebound Parishioners. Your service is priceless for this ministry. You can see the joy and love of Christ in their eyes as each song is sung! Thank you for allowing Christ to work through you, and through your angelic voices, and for bringing the joy of Christmas to their homes.

Peace and blessings,

Vivian Cantu, Senior Adult Minister

Youth Ministry wishes to give a big “thank you” and great blessings to everyone who has been involved in

this past holiday’s activities. There have been many individuals involved who have made this a success. We started out the month with a special Turkey

Bingo, followed up with 365 Can Food drive for Inner City Development Center; we then entered December with participation of gift giving to needed nursing homes of our Saintly Elves preparing 250 prayer

blankets; also the Joshua Build where many teens came out to help construct stud walls for the future habitat house to be built in Feb. 2012; also thanks

are to be given on Our Lady of Guadalupe feast day as a presentation was done at the Mass celebration along with the teens assisting with the reception at

the end of the celebration. We will end the month with Christmas Caroling to patients at a kidney dialysis center. The youth have worked with various ministries and are learning the importance of living

out our Corporal Works of mercy as a practicing Catholic.

Thank you and many blessings this Christmas holiday!
