St. Lucia covers about 240 square milesand has a population of 174,000.

The Island was originally colonized by the French, but was fought for by the British who wanted the land for the growing sugar industry.

The island has a tropical climate with a dry and wet season. Daytime temperatures average around 85°F with night time temperatures at 65°F. Temperatures don’t change much between winter and summer due to its proximity to the equator.
