TONIGHT'S GAME

COLORADO at ST. LOUIS

5:30 p.m. MT / 6:30 p.m. CT

Altitude, NBCSN  / AM 950

The Avalanche heads to St. Louis for the first time this season to face the Blues tonight at Enterprise Center.  This is a quick one-game trip for the Avs,

who will return home to host Los Angeles this weekend.  Colorado is finishing the season by playing 14 of its last 19 on the road.

WINNING WAYS

The Avalanche have posted their best record through 42 games in franchise history.  Colorado was the first NHL team to reach 60 points on Sunday,

matching a franchise record for the fastest to 60 (1994-95 Nordiques also did it in 41 games).  The Avs tonight will attempt to become the first team to 30

wins, something no Avalanche/Nordiques club has ever reached in fewer than 47 games (tonight is Colorado's 43rd).

Colorado is 8-1-0 in its last nine games and 16-1-2 in its last 19.  With a win tonight, the Avs would have their best 20-game stretch in franchise history.

The record is a 16-1-1-2 stretch from Jan. 23–March 5, 2003.  Colorado is 20-3-3 in its last 26 contests.  The Avalanche's 19-3-3 mark from Feb. 26–

April 11 equaled the best 25-game stretch in franchise history (18-2-3-2, Jan. 20–March 13, 2003).  The Avs are 12-0-1 in their last 13 home games and

8-2-1 in their last 11 road contests.  Colorado is 6-1-0 in April after finishing a league-best 12-2-3 in March, which set franchise records for wins and

points in a month.

SWEET HOME

Colorado is 18-4-2 at home (38 points), tied with the Islanders for the most points and wins on home ice.  The Avs are out-scoring their opponents 92-50

WHEELING AND DEALING

On Friday, the Avalanche acquired defenseman Patrik Nemeth from the Red Wings in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

On Saturday, the club acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Sharks in exchange for Greg Pateryn and a fifth-round selection in the 2021 NHL

Draft.  Then on Monday, the team acquired forward Carl Soderberg from Chicago in exchange for forwards Ryder Rolston and Josh Dickinson.

BACK-TO-BACK

The Avs just finished their seventh consecutive night set, sweeping a road/home back-to-back against Anaheim and Arizona.  It was the second straight

back-to-back sweep for the Avs and their third sweep of the season.  The Avs are a combined 10-1-3 in back-to-backs, 6-1-0 in the first game and 4-0-3

in the second.

TOP OF THE LINE

Colorado is the only NHL team to feature three 40-point scorers in linemates Nathan MacKinnon (52), Mikko Rantanen (50) and Gabriel Landeskog

(41).  The trio all rank among the NHL's top 20 in points this season and are the top three scorers since March 1.

MOST POINTS SINCE MARCH 1 (as of 4/13)

32  Gabriel Landeskog (12g/20a)

32  Nathan MacKinnon (16g/16a)

32  Mikko Rantanen (13g/19a)

30  Sidney Crosby (9g/21a)

BOTH ENDS OF THE ICE

Colorado leads the NHL in goals-per-game (3.57) and ranks third in goals-against-per-game (2.31).  Colorado also leads the league in goal differential at

+52.  Three different Colorado skaters have over 40 points (best in NHL), 10 have at least 20 points (most in NHL) and seven have 10+ goals (tied first).

The Avalanche and Rangers are the only teams with three 8+ goal games this season and also the only teams with six 6+ goal outings.  Colorado's +52

goal differential is tied for the highest through 42 games in franchise history (Quebec, 1994-95).  The Avalanche has six shutout this season, tied with

Carolina and the NY Islanders for the most in the NHL.

FIRST OF ALL

The Avs have scored the first goal of the game 30 times, the most of any team.  Colorado is 25-3-2 when scoring first, the most wins in the NHL.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT

Colorado ranks first in the NHL in shots-per-game (35.0) and shots-against-per-game (25.4).  The last NHL team to lead the league in both was the

2009-10 Blackhawks.  The Avs pace the NHL in shot differential (+401) and are out-shooting the opposition by an average of 9.55 shots per night.

Colorado has out-shot its opponents in 34 of its 42 contests this season (most in NHL).  The Avs own a 25-7-2 record when holding an edge in shots,

the most wins of any club.  They have out-shot their foes 750-492 (+258) over the last 19 contests.

CROWDED HOUSE

14 different defenseman have played for the Avalanche in 2020-21.  Only two other seasons has Colorado used 14 or more blueliners, 2010-11 (16) and

2008-09 (14).

FEELING GRU-BI

Philipp Grubauer is tied for first in the NHL in wins (25), shutouts (5) and games (34).  Among goalies who have played in at least 10 games, he ranks

tied for third in GAA (2.00) and tied for ninth in Sv% (.920).  Grubi's 25 wins and five shutouts are both career bests.  He went 12-0-1 from March 10–

April 5, setting a franchise mark for consecutive games with a point.  Grubauer was named the Honda West Division First Star of the Month for

March after tying the league record for wins in a month with 12.  Grubi had a career-high, eight-game winning streak from March 10-25, allowing one or

fewer goals in all eight appearances (seven starts).  He became the first netminder to go eight-plus decisions without allowing more than one goal since

John Vanbiesbrouck in 1991-92 (eight).

MILESTONE WATCH

- Jared Bednar will coach his 359th career game tonight, tying Bob Hartley for the most games coached in Avalanche history (since 1995-96).  Michel

Bergeron (634) holds the franchise mark set during the club's time in Quebec.  Bednar owns a 174-145-39 (.541) career record, ranking second in wins

to only Hartley's 193 since the team relocated.

- Samuel Girard needs 2 assists for 100

- Philipp Grubauer needs one win to tie Clint Malarchuk (62) for eighth place on the franchise wins list.  His next start will pass Craig Anderson (102) for

the fifth most games started since the franchise relocated.

ALL GOOD THINGS....

Colorado had a 15-game point streak (13-0-2) from March 10–April 5.  The streak was the second-longest in franchise history, just one shy of the record

set in 2000-01.  The Avs out-scored the opposition 67-28 (+39) during the streak and out-shot them 591-369 (+222).
