Waiting in excitement Children everywhere are waiting in anticipation and excitement for holidays, Christmas and adventures. Christians everywhere are also waiting. We wait in excited anticipation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. The season of waiting is very important. It allows us space to prepare, to appreciate and be thankful for our blessings, to make peace where needed and to spend time with those who are important to us. We at St Laurence's wish you and your family a happy, peaceful and joyful Christmas. May your time together be blessed and enjoyable. We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year refreshed and ready for another wonderful year.
Another year is over. Thank you to everyone who has helped out in any
capacity during the year. Thank you all families who are reading the
newsletter, CareMonkey and Flexibuzz before contacting the office for
information that was given out via these mediums, we in the office
appreciate you being proactive and doing this.
Farewell to the following families who will be leaving the St Laurence’s school community: Battersby family,
Cowell family, Dyke family, Evans family, Herbert family, Oliver family, Santosh family, Wightman family and the
Mahne family.
THANK YOU TO OUR STAFF: We have the most amazing teachers and aides working at St

they teach. Thank you all for your dedication, care and continued enthusiasm. We look forward to
once again working together with families next year, to achieve even greater success in their
children’s growth and learning.

Lord, in this holy season of prayer and song and laughter, we praise you for the great wonders you have sent us:
for shining star and angel's song, for infant's cry in lowly manger. We praise you for the Word made flesh in a little Child. We behold his glory, and are bathed in its radiance.
SCHOOL—PARENT COMMUNICATION UPDATE
While we are preparing to launch our Parent Access Module (PAM), we will continue to use Flexibuzz and CareMonkey as our major forms of communication to parents until we transition over to PAM. It is an expectation that ALL families are on both. All permission forms for activities like sport, camps, swimming, excursions are submitted via CareMonkey. NO HARD COPY PERMISSION FORMS WILL BE GIVEN OUT. To create a profile for your child in CareMonkey please do so via the CareMonkey invitation email. FAMILIES NEW TO ST LAURENCE’S will receive their invitation email on the first day of term. Unfortunately only one parent/guardian can create the profile and manage it but, a secondary parent/guardian can receive notifications. This is recommended for families who have shared living arrangements. If you wish to be added to CareMonkey to keep track of excursions and permission, please let Kylie know at the office. FLEXIBUZZ: ANY PARENT CAN HAVE THE FLEXIBUZZ APP. IF YOU HAVE NOT DOWNLOADED THE FLEXIBUZZ APP PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please ensure that you have selected ’whole school’ so you will receive notifications. When/if you know your child’s class, also select their class so you will receive notifications that are relevant to your child’s class as these types of notifications will not go out to the whole school. Flexibuzz SUITS SMART PHONE, COMPUTER, TABLET, IPHONE etc. Get it free from the app store or go to www.flexibuzz.com From Flexibuzz you can submit absences, access school interviews, access newsletters and notifications and calendar dates. Need to contact the office, speak to a teacher, have a query or need to change afternoon bus/after school arrangements? You can do all this from Flexibuzz. ABSENCES: If phoning in absences, please select option 1 and leave details of the absence. Absences need to be by 9:30 on the day of absence.
Uniform Shop The P & F uniform sub-committee has been working hard to stock the shop for 2019. They will be open for uniform pick up on the 29th of January from 9am until 12.30pm. The uniform pricelist is included in the newsletter and has been distributed also by Flexibuzz and CareMonkey.
