Join Coach Pete Lotus, his staff, and current and former Viking

players for Viking baseball camps. Attendees will learn the

skills and fundamentals of the game by the same methods that

have produced back-to-back Catholic League Blue Champion-

ships and over 250 wins the past 9 seasons.

Cost: $60 per session OR $150 for all 3 sessions

Coach Jim Maley and his staff are offering a fun and fast-paced

camp for all skill levels. In his first year, Coach Maley led the

Vikings to the team’s greatest number of wins in the past 7

years. He will teach campers the same fundamentals, offensive

and defensive principles that led to that success.

Cost: $60 per session OR $100 for both sessions

ATHLETIC CAMPS

Football July 20th—23rd 12—2 pm 5th—8th Grade

Head Coach and former NFL player Harold Blackmon will lead

this camp for all rising 5th-8th graders. The camp is open to all

skill levels and is no pads and non-contact. Other members of

the Viking coaching staff, including former Notre Dame and

Bears player Bobbie Howard , will help lead the camp. Come

experience for yourself why Viking football is on the rise!

Cost: $75

Golf July 7th—9th 8 am—12 pm 5th—8th Grade

St. Laurence golf coach Joe Sinisi will lead this camp for golf-

ers of all skill levels. The first day will be at The Players Club

driving range in Justice. The last two days will be at Stony

Creek Golf Course in Oak Lawn. Campers need to bring their

own clubs and should have proper golf attire (polo & golf

shoes).

Cost: $125

Lacrosse July 13th—16th 12—2 pm 5th—8th Grade

Come experience the fastest game on two feet with the St.

Laurence coaching staff. From beginners to experienced play-

ers, all campers will enjoy this action-packed camp on the turf

field. Attendees should bring their own equipment. Contact STL

about the possibility of renting equipment for the camp.

ATHLETIC CAMPS


Soccer July 6th—9th 12—2 pm 5th—8th Grade

Lawless Coach of the Year Matt Prunckle will direct this soccer

camp for all grammar school boys. Learn the fundamentals and

skills that Coach Prunckle and his staff use with the Catholic

League Champion high school teams. All skill levels are wel-

come. Campers should wear soccer cleats and shin guards.

Cost: $50

Speed & Agility July 20th—23rd 8:30—10 am 5th—8th Grade

Coach Leke Adesina will lead this dynamic camp for athletes

from all sports. Coach Leke will use the same methods he uses

with current Viking athletes. Campers will not only improve their

speed and agility during camp, but they will learn a number of

drills that they can do on their own to continue to get faster and

quicker.

Cost: $60

Strength & Conditioning July 13th—16th 8:30—10 am 5th—8th Grade

This camp will be run by members of the St. Laurence football

coaching staff but is open to all athletes. Campers will learn

basic safety and technique in the weight room. They will also

do a number of exercises with and without weights to both

strengthen their muscles and build cardiovascular endurance.

Cost: $60

$100 for Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning together

ATHLETIC CAMPS


Tennis July 6th—9th 8:45—10 am 5th—8th Grade

Coach Mike Faber will lead the tennis camp open to all players

regardless of experience or skill level. Campers will learn skills

and drills to improve their game and have the opportunity to play

against each other.

Cost: $40

Volleyball June 15th—18th 4—6 pm 5th—8th Grade

Coach Ryan Denson, who led the Vikings to a Conference

Championship in his 1st year, will lead this camp for rising 5th-8th

graders. All skill levels are welcome. Campers will have the op-

portunity to learn from and play with the current Viking volleyball

players as well.

Cost: $40

Wrestling Session I: Setups and Takedowns

June 15th—18th 4—6 pm 5th—8th Grade

Session II: Top Position, Leg Riding & Pinning Combinations

July 20th—23rd 4—6 pm 5th—8th Grade

Coaches from the St. Laurence wrestling program will lead these

dynamic camps in our brand new wrestling room! Come experi-

ence what it is like to be a part of Viking wrestling!

Cost: $60 per session OR $100 for both sessions

ATHLETIC CAMPS


Art: Sculpture June 29th—July 2nd 10:15—11:30 am 5th—8th Grade

Explore the world of 3D art and sculpture with STL art teacher Jill

Kotas. Students will work in groups to create life-sized sculptures

out of packing tape. St. Laurence sports will be the theme for the

sculptures. Artworks will be displayed in local stores in Garfield

Ridge.

Cost: $50

English July 6th—9th 10:15—11:30 am 5th—8th Grade

This class will take young sports fans through the process of sports

writing. Students will be taught the specific tactics used by writers

to engage an audience through writing while bringing sporting

events to life through paper and pen. Genres such as sports jour-

nalism, sports biography, play-by-play scripting, and color com-

mentary will be analyzed and applied.

Forensic Science June 22nd—25th 10:30—11:45 am 5th—8th Grade

Students will be introduced to the fascinating world of Forensic Sci-

ence. Learn what it really takes to process a crime scene and ana-

lyze evidence. Campers will perform hands-on laboratory activities

such as DNA Analysis, Blood Spatter and Blood Typing, Criminal

Profiling, Fingerprinting, Ink Chromatography and more...all while

experiencing campus life at St. Laurence.

ACADEMIC CAMPS


Leadership June 15th—18th 12:15—1:30 pm 5th & 6th Grade

June 15th—18th 2:15—3:30 pm 7th & 8th Grade

Come learn how to be a leader from the premier leadership pro-

gram on the Southside! Since leaders are made, not born, this

camp will concentrate on the five best practices of a leader, how to

use them in a group, and how a leader effectively leads a group.

The skills will be learned and practiced in an interactive manner

through activities, group work, the exploration of leadership skills,

discussion, analysis, and reflection.

Cost: $50

Math July 13th—16th 10:15—11:30 am 5th—8th Grade

Math camp will use sports to reinforce some of the basic math con-

cepts that students learn in grammar school. Campers will be able

to see the application of math concepts through the STEM concept.

Camp will be split between the classroom and in sports activities

outside of the classroom applying what they learned. Students

should bring a notebook and a pen or pencil with them to camp and

should also wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Nutrition July 20th—23rd 2:15—3:30 pm 5th—8th Grade

The nutrition class will cover the importance of eating healthy in re-

lation to performance, calorie intake for weight gain or loss, and

maintaining a balanced diet. Campers will learn to make healthy

choices in their daily lives, as well as what to consume to ensure

peak performance in competition.

ACADEMIC CAMPS


Smartphone Photography June 15th—18th 10:15—11:30 am 5th—8th Grade

Discover the elements of good photography by touring STL behind the

lens of a smartphone camera with art teacher Jill Kotas. Students will

experiment with the basics of photography, lighting, composition,

and how to use Photoshop® for photo manipulation and creation. No

experience required. Campers need to bring a digital camera or smart

phone, flash drive, charged camera battery, and a USB cable.

STEM Challenge July 20th—23rd 10:15—11:30 am 5th—8th Grade

St. Laurence is dedicated to providing students with an exceptional

education that prepares them for the careers of the 21st century

through the StL STEM curriculum. This student-centered approach is

driven by problem-solving through individual exploration and class-

room collaboration. The StL STEM Challenge Camp will provide spe-

cific projects to stimulate creative thinking and teach students to work

effectively within a group. Students will hone a variety of skills includ-

ing creative thinking, teamwork, and public speaking. Campers will

have an opportunity to show off their creativity and problem-solving

ability through group presentations.

all responsibility concerning my child’s physical condition upon en-

tering camp. I recognize, acknowledge, and agree to assume the

full risk of any injuries, damages or loss, which may be sustained

as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with

or associated with such camp(s). I further agree to indemnify and

hold harmless St. Laurence HS from any and all claims sustained

by my child, arising out of, connected with, or in any way associat-

ed with the activities of the camp.

I confirm that my child has up-to-date health insurance coverage and understand that this organization does not provide health in-surance for students in the camps. In the event of an emergency, I authorize any treatment deemed necessary from any accredited hospital and/or physician(s) for the immediate care of my child/children.
