Pope Francis For Chris ans, this involves a constant and healthy unease. Even if helping one person alone could jus fy all our efforts, it would not be enough. The bishops of Canada made this clear when they noted, for example, that the biblical understanding of the jubilee year was about more than simply performing certain good works. It also meant seeking social change: “For later genera ons to also be released, clearly the goal had to be the restora on of just social and economic systems, so there could no longer be exclusion”. Family Promise of Greater Beloit Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with this past rotation in serving our homeless families. Whether you volunteered for two hours or 20, the giving of your time is most appreciated. A special thank you to Jim and Mary Jo Gabelbauer, who have purchased new furniture. We have set up a little living room for our families to feel welcome, comfortable, and safe, which is our ultimate goal. Families love coming to our church. Bars, Breads, etc, but if we don’t catch up with you, we hope you will still support us with your donation of goodies. You can drop off these items on Saturday, Dec. 7th from 11:00 AM until 3:30 PM. The proceeds from this sale takes care of the Altar needs, allows us to support local charities, and we also award a $500 Scholarship each year to a qualifying St. Thomas Senior.
