This Second Sunday of Easter we celebrate Divine Mercy

Sunday. The Message of the Divine Mercy that Sister Faustina

received from the Lord was not only directed toward her

personal growth in faith, but also toward the good of the people.

From this revelation to Sister Faustina we received the image

and Chaplet to the Divine Mercy. The Lord requested that this

Chaplet be said not only by Sr. Faustina, but by

others: "Encourage souls to say the Chaplet that I have given

you."

The same is true of the revelation of the Feast of Mercy.

"The Feast of Mercy emerged from my very depths of

tenderness. It is my desire that it solemnly be celebrated on the

first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it

turns to the fount of My Mercy." And so, on April 30, 2000,

St. John Paul II established the 2nd

Sunday of Easter as

Divine Mercy Sunday. The following year on Divine Mercy

Sunday, St. John Paul II said in his homily, “Divine Mercy!

This is the Easter gift that the Church receives from the risen

Christ and offers to humanity at the dawn of the third

millennium.”

It is important to remember that this message of The Divine

Mercy, revealed to St. Faustina and to our present generation is

not new. It is a powerful reminder of who God is and has been

from the very beginning of creation. The Coming of Christ was

the fulfilment of a long plan of God’s mercy for us.

The Chaplet to Divine Mercy is rather short, so it can be a great

addition to your prayer life, and the best time to pray the chaplet

is at 3pm, remembering the hour Christ died for us; however,

if you are busy with something at that time I recommend

memorizing the 3 o’clock prayer, which is also said before

starting the chaplet.

You expired, O Jesus,

but the source of life gushed forth for souls

and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.

O Fount of Life,

unfathomable Divine Mercy,

envelope the whole world

and empty Yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water,

which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus

as a fount of mercy for us,

I trust in You.

Dear Father Chris and my dear friends,

How are you?

I hope that all of you are safe and sound!

I pray that the Risen Lord may protect us all from the

Corona Pandemic. As we contemplate and celebrate the

paschal mystery in a time the whole world experiences,

more than ever, the reality of suffering, distress and death

caused by Covid -19, trusting in the vitality of hope and

new life offered by the Resurrection of the Lord, I wish

you a very Happy Easter!

May the Risen Lord energize us to overcome the grip of

the Coronavirus over our health and life, and heal the

world from this pandemic. While we are in the solitude

and social distance necessitated by the situation and time

we live in, let us take solace in the hope and peace offered

by the Risen Lord! May the verses of Psalm reverberate in

our hearts and minds giving us confidence and courage to

conquer Covid-19: “If you say, ‘The Lord is my refuge,’

and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will

overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent”

(Psalm 9:9, 10).

Let us pray for the whole world, particularly for the people

devastated by the disaster of the Coronavirus. Currently in

India, stringent measures are taken by the Central and

State Governments to contain the alarming spread of

Covid-19. Our Prime Minister in India has officially

declared that nobody is allowed to come out of their

houses or place of residence except for the unavoidable

necessities until the 30th of April 2020. The private and

public transport systems are closed. All the domestic and

international flights are cancelled indefinitely as of now.

Day by day, the number of Corona victims is on the

increase alarmingly.

So in this terrifying situation, I am not able to travel back

to the USA until the end of April or possibly later. I hope

that by then the situation will improve. We have yet to

receive further information from the authorities when the

public transport system will resume. Thank you for all of

your prayers as I have now received my VISA.

I miss you all. Please continue to pray for me and take

care. Once again wishing you an Easter of New Hope,

Courage, Confidence, Consolation and New Life,
