Happy Easter! The Lord is risen! We are in strange times yet beautiful times! Never before have we celebrated the Triduum in private. These past four weeks have been without the public celebration of the Eucharist, and yet I have heard many wonderful stories of how your faith has been nourished. As the Church celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus, we are reminded that He is the Lord of all. He is not only the Lord of each of us, but He is Lord of life and death. Jesus is the one with true dominion over all things. One of my favorite images in our Church is the stained glass above the main doors of the Church. In it we see Jesus Christ coming up out of the tomb with his hand raised in blessing as he holds the cross. His feet are straddled over the tomb, which for so many is the definitive sign of death. As Jesus comes up out of it, He reminds us that He is the bridge from death to Life. To come under his authority and receive his blessing also means to come under the sign of the cross. But now the cross is the great sign of life and victory. Wherever we find ourselves we can place ourselves under the sign of the cross, our great hope offered us by the Risen Jesus. I’ve been praying for all of you during this time of great difficulty and my prayers will continue. Thank you for all of yours for myself, Fr. Cruz, and the whole staff here. Have a blessed Easter! ¡El Señor ha resucitado! ¡Estamos en tiempos extraños pero hermosos! Nunca antes habíamos celebrado el Triduo en privado. Estas últimas cuatro semanas
han estado sin la celebración pública de la Eucaristía y, sin embargo, he escuchado muchas historias maravillosas de cómo se ha alimentado su fe. A medida que la Iglesia celebra la resurrección de Jesús, se nos recuerda que Él es el Señor de todos. Él no es solo el Señor de cada uno de nosotros, pero es el Señor de la vida y la muerte. Jesús es el que tiene dominio verdadero sobre todas las cosas.
Una de mis imágenes favoritas en nuestra Iglesia es el vidrio de color encima las puertas principales de la Iglesia. En él, vemos a Jesucristo saliendo de la tumba con su mano levantada en bendición mientras sostiene la cruz. Sus pies están a horcajadas sobre la tumba, que para tantos es el signo definitivo de la muerte. Cuando Jesús sale de él, nos recuerda que Él es el puente de la muerte a la Vida. Estar bajo su autoridad y recibir su bendición también significa estar bajo la señal de la cruz. Pero ahora la cruz es la gran señal de vida y victoria.
Dondequiera que nos encontremos, podemos colocarnos bajo el signo de la cruz, nuestra gran esperanza que nos ofrece Jesús resucitado. Estaba orando por todos ustedes durante este momento de gran dificultad y mis oraciones continuarán. Gracias por todos los suyos para mí, P. GOSPEL – JOHN 20:1-9
ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, MARY OF MAGDALA CAME TO THE TOMB EARLY IN THE MORNING WHILE IT WAS STILL DARK AND SAW THE STONE REMOVED FROM THE TOMB. SO
SHE RAN AND WENT TO SIMON PETER AND TO THE OTHER DISCIPLE WHOM JESUS LOVED AND TOLD THEM: “THEY HAVE TAKEN THE LORD FROM THE TOMB AND WE DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY HAVE PUT HIM.” SO, PETER AND THE OTHER DISCIPLE WENT OUT AND CAME TO THE
TOMB. THEY BOTH RAN BUT THE OTHER DISCIPLE RAN FASTER THAN PETER AND ARRIVED AT THE TOMB FIRST; HE BENT DOWN AND SAW THE BURIAL CLOTHS BUT DID NOT GO IN. WHEN SIMON PETER ARRIVED AFTER HIM, HE WENT INTO THE TOMB AND SAW THE BURIAL CLOTHS
THERE AND THE CLOTH THAT HAD COVERED HIS HEAD, NOT WITH THE BUTIAL CLOTHS BUT ROLLED UP IN A SEPARATE PLACE. THEN THE OTHER DISCIPLE ALSO WNET IN, THE ONE WHO HAD ARRIVED AT THE TOMB FIRST AND HE SAW AND BELIEVED. FOR THEY DID NOT YET UN-
DERSTAND THE SCRIPTURE THAT HE HAD TO RISE FROM THE DEAD.

discípulo salieron y vinieron a la tumba. AMBOS CORRERON PERO EL OTRO DISCÍPULO CORRIERON MÁS RÁPIDO QUE PEDRO Y LLEGARON A LA TUMBA PRIMERO; HABLÓ Y VIERON LA ROPA DE ENTRETENIMIENTO, PERO NO ENTRÓ. CUANDO SIMON PETER LLEGÓ DESPUÉS DE
ÉL, ENTRA EN LA TUMBA Y VIÓ LA ROPA DE ENTRETENIMIENTO Y LA ROPA QUE LE HABÍA CUBIERTO LA CABEZA, NO CON LA ROPA BUTIAL, sino que se enrolló en un lugar separado.
ENTONCES EL OTRO DISCÍPULO TAMBIÉN ENTRÓ, EL QUE HABÍA LLEGADO A LA TUMBA PRIMERO Y VIO Y CREÍA. PORQUE NO COMPRENDÍAN LA ESCRITURA QUE TUVO QUE
RESUCITAR DE LOS MUERTOS.

As a sign of our unity as a parish community, you and your families are invited to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy next Sunday, April 19 at 3:00pm in your homes. 1n 1936, Our Lord said to Sister Faustina, “I desire that the whole world know of my intimate mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in my mercy” (Diary, n. 687). May we come to know the
mercy of the Lord during this time, and to plead for him to extend that mercy throughout our parish community
– and to the whole world!
