A signal for Catholic radio in our diocese recently went live.
You are invited to share this exciting news with those you
know. 970AM is now owned and operated by “Real
Presence Radio”, an apostolate out of Fargo. The signal
reaches many cities including Rochester, Austin, Owatonna,
Albert Lea, and many communities beyond. For those who
do not get the signal in their radio, there is also a live
stream which can be found here: https://
yourcatholicradiostation.com/ and also the Real Presence
Radio app. It is our hope that all of us can work together to
find ways to connect the faithful of our diocese to this new
Catholic radio station. Feel free to tell parishioners, post on
social media, run bulletin announcements, and simply share
through word of mouth. In the coming months,
representatives from Real Presence Radio will be present in
our diocese trying to spread the good word.
You may not be aware that 25% of the funds collected in
the CCHD campaign remains in our Diocese. These
proceeds help support “Works of Justice” fund, which
awards up to $5,000 for organizations that meet the criteria
of operating local anti- poverty programs. To learn more or
to apply, please contact Tom Parlin at the Catholic
Charities office at [email protected] or 454-2270 ext 246

It is with sadness, yet excitement, that I want to share that I have accepted a position as the Director of Evangelization
for the St. Charles/Eyota Catholic Church cluster. I will start in August. To say that this is happening with a heavy
heart is an understatement. Everyone at St. Joachim has been so good to me, and I love everything about this
parish. Someone encouraged me to contact Fr. Biren about his vision for this position. Something stirred in my heart
and I really feel that God is asking me to move on. St. Charles is about 10 minutes closer to my home and Eyota is
less than 20 minutes away.
I want to thank Fr. Becker for always being supportive. He is one of the best priests, and I have learned a lot from his
wisdom. I will miss my many conversations with Deacon John and his openness to me, especially when I first came
here to Plainview. Barb and Glenn have so much integrity, and you are so blessed to have such amazing people
working here. I will miss all of the parishioners at St. Joachim. You have been so magnificent in so many ways.
Thank you for these wonderful days and memories at St. Joachim.
This week is Totus Tuus—see the team below.
It’s not too late to sign up for summer activities. We have lots of room for Cat Chat & Totus Tuus. The summer
registration info is available by the entrances in the church, Parish Center and on our website.
h&p://www.saintjoachimchurch.org/summer-activities.html. It has become a reality that many of our young people
are falling away from the church which makes it even more important to give them more time with the Lord. These
activities are ideal for growing a deeper relationship with Christ. Please pray for all these events and if you want to
help support someone please feel free to contact me.
If you have questions, comments or you just want to talk. Stop by, give me a call or email me.
Blessings! Dennis Kunkel
