Session met with the Deacons on December 5th, as required by the Book of Order, to hear about the wonderful work done by the Deacons. Session then met and approved the required membership reconciliation of 108 members whose membership was changed to inactive due to their lack of activity with St. James for a significant length of time. Security has been a concern in churches since the recent Texas church shooting. Changes in procedures at St. James are in place and others are being discussed. Session met on January 16th and approved the required Annual Congregation meeting to be held on January 28th at 9:45 am in the Sanctuary. Also approved was the Annual Statistical Report sent to Presbytery that calculates St. James active membership at 365. There will be a time for questions to be answered during this meeting. Session also spent time discussing the how best to move forward with the spiritual leadership of session.

Family Promise Thanks YouA very heartfelt thank you to every one who

donated sheets, blankets, towels, fans, luggage, toys, books and a TV. Also, many thanks to our

volunteers who shopped for food for breakfasts and lunches, helped with setup, provided dinner each

night, drove vans and UHauls, stayed overnight, and helped with tear down. Without your help we could not have provided a safe place to stay and food for a week for families who are truly without any way to

keep there family off the street.

KIDS TO LOVE - WHIZ KIDSThis is your chance! You can be a mentor/tutor

beginning in Oct and ending in April! We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 in the Sunday School

classrooms and have a lot of fun while the kids learn about God, all while improving kids' skills in reading,

writing and math. (Training is provided.) You can sign up in the Narthex after services, talk to current tutors and

join us. Come experience this "family" and make a difference for an elementary child in Sheridan Schools.

You will be blessed. We are grateful for the congregation's financial support that allows us to offer

this program at St. James!

Donations AppreciatedSt. James is in dyer need of donations to replace all of

our projectors. The overall cost of this project is $40,000, $10,000 of which we were blessed with by a special donor. Donations will go towards replacing 2 projectors in Avery Hall and 2 in the sanctuary. We greatly appreciate anything you are called to give!

Please contact Rocky with any questions at [email protected].
