Stewardship Reflection

“Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32) How often do we take the time to discern what Jesus wants from us? Are our prayers always petitions, asking Jesus to do things for us? If so, that’s a one-sided relationship. Living our faith means developing a personal relationship with Jesus. Just like any friendship, there is give and take, each side lis-tening to each other and helping each other out. Take time in silence to listen to what Jesus is asking of you.

Christian Civic Affairs Committee: A reminder that to make a difference, we need to show up. How do we do that? In many ways. We can volunteer time and money to food banks such as St. Vincent de Paul which does such great work in our local area. We can make family and society life better by better communication and neighborly support. We can make sure our presence on social media is positive and even a Christian influence. And we can get involved in political parties to bring a Chris-tian perspective to the public square. The Conservative Party of Canada is in a leadership race and to have influence, the deadline is May 15 to have a membership. The Green Party of Canada is also in a leadership race.
