“Into His Likeness”: a 4-week Book Study
Fr. Kosco is inviting 25 (maximum) parishioners for this first presentation of a short book titled, “Into HIs Likeness” by Edward Sri. This book examines the essence of what it means to call oneself a 'disciple’ of Christ and what is required to be a dis-ciple. The book is short, not a difficult read. The format will largely be discussion: questions, com-ments, reactions, and insights into the book’s con-tent as well, and Fr. Kosco’s teaching. The study begins Thursday, August 9
th and continues on the
following three Thursdays at 6:30pm. Cost is only $10 for the book. Sign-up at the parish office.
Fr. Billy’s “TOP 10” Catholic Colleges in the USA
Soon recent high school graduates around the country will begin preparing to attend college or university with some moving away from home for the first time. Perhaps some students will spend a year working or traveling before deciding if college is right for them. With the enormous expense of secondary education nowadays, it is quite prudent for many young people to pause and reflect upon whether college is best postponed for a few years after some grow-ing up, or even attended at all. Other options may include going into the military, traveling, doing some mission work, pursuing artistic or athletic interests, maybe even investigating a religious vocation in the Catholic Church.
But if you are interested in attending a Catholic College, your pastor invites you to consider these places where faith & reason do not conflict with each other. Here’s my “TOP 10” Catholic Colleges in the USA:
1. University of Mary Bismark, ND. 2. Christendom College Front Royal, VA. 3. Benedictine College Atchison, KS. 4. Ave Maria University Ave Maria, FL. 5. Thomas Aquinas College Santa Paula, CA.
6. Franciscan U. of Steubenville Steubenville, OH. 7. University of Dallas Irving, TX. 8. Wyoming Catholic Lander, WY. 9. Northeast Catholic College Warner, NH. 10.The University of Life Hard Knocks, USA
