Better known as Much Ado About Nothing, the play is performed under the title Love’s Labour’s Won, a name possibly attributed to it during Shakespeare’s lifetime.

Red Riding HoodWe all know the story of Red Riding Hood, but which version dowe know? The origins of the Red Riding Hood story can be traced back tolong before the earliest 17th Century printed version came to be.All across Europe and Asia there are different versions of the RedRiding Hood story handed down through oral storytellingtraditions, many are significantly different from the currentlyknown Brothers Grimm inspired version.

Even the name of the story differs from place to place; theNorwich Puppet Theatre production is called Red Riding Hood butyou may have come across versions using the title Little RedRiding Hood or even Little Red Cap.The story was told orally in France as early as the 14th centuryas well as in Italy, where a number of versions exist, including La finta nonna (The FalseGrandmother). It has also been called The Story of Grandmother and The Grandmother’sTale. In Asia, Great Aunt Tiger is a very old story found in various forms in China, Japan, and Korea, the story has clearly contributed to the development of the modern Red RidingHood tale.

Many of the early oral based variations of the tale differ from the currently known version inseveral ways. The antagonist is not always a wolf, but sometimes an ogre or a ‘bzou’(werewolf). The use of a werewolf character possibly has resonance with events of the time,

two suffolk artists - talk

Throughout the world the work of these two artists offers a view of England which is still largely unchallenged. Their paintings adorn the walls of the world’s finest galleries, but they also are instantly familiar to us through a host of reproductions. For generations they have defined what we mean by the term masterpiece. Both artists had a clear sense of purpose, and they both had to overcome considerable obstacles before they could be accepted by their peers. Gainsborough rose to become the portrait painter of high society, including the court of George lll, but he only ever wanted to paint the Suffolk countryside.
