FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION In preparation of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday, August 15, 2020, we will have three days of prayer, Wednes-day - Friday, August 12-14, 2020. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 6:00 PM fol-lowed by the Divine Office prayer for the Feast of the Assumption and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. On Saturday August 15, 2020 we con-clude the celebration with a concert to the Blessed Mother at 6:00 PM in the church.

PARISH EVENTS As everyone is aware, our major events for the year are Magic is the Night and the Lebanese Food Festival. Due to the health crisis, these events have been cancelled. Besides their financial support to the parish, these events provide an incredible platform for sharing our culture with the greater San Antonio community. The health and safety of all volunteers and visitors remains our top priority. We want to take the opportunity to thank each and every one for all the energy, time, and commit-ment you put into making our parish alive and vi-brant. Sunday: 11th Sunday of Pentecost (Eph 2: 17-22; Lk 19: 1-10) What would you do if Jesus

knocked on your door and said, “I must stay at your house today? Would you be excited or

embarrassed? The Lord is always ready to make his home with us. Do you make room for him in

your heart and in your home?

Monday: (Acts 23: 2-22; Lk 12: 13-21) In today’s parable Jesus gives a lesson on using

material possessions. A person’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. In this

little parable Jesus inquiries the heart– where is your treasure? What do you treasure most?

Tuesday: (Acts 23: 23-35; Lk 12: 22-31) An anxious person is divided and often paralyzed by

indecision. What can free us from anxiety? Do you place your security in what you possess or in

God who possesses you as his child? Do you cast your cares and concerns upon the Lord with

trust and faith?

Wednesday: (Acts 24: 1-2a, 5-6b, 9-13, 17-21; Lk 12: 32-34) God the Father tells us not to

fear because He wants to provide for us. When we fear, what we are saying to Him? Do you

really trust Him to take care of us?

Thursday: (Acts 24: 27-25:12; Lk 35-40) Jesus gives a lesson in faithfulness and a warning

against laziness. Why is faithfulness so important to God? Why is fidelity, commitment, and

faithfulness so difficult today? Are you faithful to God and ready to give him an account of your

stewardship?

Friday: St Maximilian Kolbe (Acts 25: 13-14a, 22-27; Lk 12: 42-48) When God offers us his

kingdom, he gives us a treasure beyond measure. He offers us a relationship with him as his

children and the promise of eternal life as well. Is your treasure secure? Are you faithful to God

and ready to give him an account of your stewardship?

Saturday: The Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Rom 12: 9-15or Lk 1: 46-55 or Lk 10: 38-

42):Do you know the mercy and favor of the Lord? Mary accepted her mission with

uncompromising faith an obedience. Do you seek the Lord Jesus to be renewed in faith, hope,

and love?

Approach everything—work, school, obstacle or victory—as a team. Support each other in times of

difficulty and share with each other times of success.
