Survey for Saturday Mass Times
This is the final weekend to submit a survey of
preferred Saturday Mass times. The survey
offers different options, including the option
of keeping the current schedule. There will be
one survey per household. Should someone
during the Sunday Masses wish to complete a
survey, they may come to the sacristy to do so.
Forty Cans For Lent The Knights of Columbus are once again sponsor-
ing 40 Cans For Lent to benefit HOPE’S food
shelf. We are asking parishioners to set aside one
can of food each day of Lent, and bring it to the
narthex of St. Mary’s, on or before April 8. The
Knights will collect all the cans, and transport
them to Hope. Last year we delivered over 1600
lbs. of food for the hungry. Lets top that this year!
Note: St. Mary’s will be skipping their March
Food Drive, and are encouraging people to par-
ticipate in the Forty Cans For Lent. The Food
Drive will resume the third weekend of April.
St. Bernadette’s/Genevieve’s will be having its
normal Food Drive on the second weekend of the
month, and will be depending on its usual volun-
teers to transport food to HOPE (altho’ parishion-
ers there may also participate in donating Forty
Cans For Lent, if they wish.)
“Our souls may lose their peace and even disturb other people's, if we are always criticizing trivial ac-tions - which often are not real de-fects at all, but we construe them wrongly through our ignorance of their motives.” ~Saint Teresa
LENT
Lenten Weekly Gathering
The Emmaus Group will be using Stephen Binz’s
Conversing with God in Lent, which uses the steps
of lectio divina prayer to have a conversation with
God. Having the book is not a requirement, but is
helpful; they will be available in the sacristies and
at the sessions themselves. All are welcome – at-
tendance at every session is not required. St. Mary’s
Parish Hall, Sundays, 4 pm.
Lenten Daily Devotional Book
So that we may encounter Christ the Healer, our
parishes will offer Ken Kniepmann’s Lenten Heal-
ing: 40 Days to Set You Free from Sin. Catholic art-
ist Audrey Assad comments that the book “expands
our concept of Lenten fasting from obligation to
awakening. Through this approach to the Lenten
disciplines of fasting and prayer, Ken Kniepmann
offers readers an opportunity to deepen our vision
of what it means to be free, whole, and loved by
God.”
