3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

“Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”

Mark 1:17

Jesus’ call to “Follow me” is a call to all Chris-

tians! The call is in the here and now, in our present

circumstances, not when we think we are “ready”

or have everything in order. Good stewardship of

our God-given gifts means that things aren’t always

going to go according to our schedule and that God

has a much better plan in store for each of us.

Prayer Box: A prayer box has been placed at the back of church. If you would

like to have a prayer for a particular inten-tion/need, write your intention on a slip of paper and place it in the box. No names

are revealed as the prayer box is sealed at all times except when the papers are taken out and the Prayer Ministry prays for the intentions of our Parish

Family. This Prayer Box is another way of praying for someone or some situation that you do not wish to share with anyone else.

THE BOOK OF THE PROPHET ISAIAH

What relevance has the Book of Isaiah, written

about a millennium and half ago, for C21st people?

Isaiah’s issues are also today’s issues. We still have

not adequately responded to God’s call to us to care

for the poor.

LOCATION OF COURSE: Parish Hall or Confer-ence Room depending on the size of the group. DATES: Wednesdays with a repeat class on the fol-lowing Sunday morning on the following dates in 2018: Jan 31 & Feb 4; Feb 7 & 18; Feb 21 & 25; Feb 28 & March 4; March 7 & 11; March 14 & 18; March 21 & 25; April 4 & 8, 2018

It will follow the in-terpretative template of scripture scholar, Sister Bar-bara Reid, O.P.
