THAT WAS MANY CENTURIES AGO, BUT 70 YEARS AGO THIS MONTHANOTHER MIRACLE TOOK PLACE. AFTER LITTLE MOVEMENT SINCE WAR
WAS DECLARED SEPT 39, SUDDENLY HITLER INVADED BELGIUM AND HOL-LAND , SWEEPING DOWN INTO FRANCE CUTTING OFF MANY OF THE ALLIED
FORCES. A CALL WAS MADE FOR ANY SHIP CAPABLE OF CROSSING THECHANNEL TO PICK THESE MEN UP FROM THE BEACHES AT DUNKIRK.
DESPITE RISK TO THEMSELVES AND THEIR CRAFTS WHICH WERE UNDER CONSTANT ATTACK, MANY MADE THE JOURNEY.
SOME 300,000 MEN WERE SAVED READY TO FIGHT AGAIN.A DAY OF THANKSGIVING PRAYER WAS OFFERED LATER .

THE ORDINATION OF LUKE GOYMOUR & MICHAEL COLLIS
will take place at the Cathedral on Saturday, 10th July at 12 noon atthe Cathedral. It will be a very big occasion with all priests anddeacons of the diocese attending and many hundreds of people. It willbe a wonderful event ot behold and in which to take part. If there isenough interest in the parish, we will hire a coach for the event. Furtherdetails to follow.
PARISH COFFEE MORNING: SATURDAY, 12th JUNE, 10-3012 NOON
Raffle Tickets are available now. This is a really easy way to raisemoney. How can you help? Buy tickets yourself and sell as many as
possible to family, friends and neighbours! Tickets are still only 20peach or 1 a book. The first prize is 100 and there will be at least 12other prizes. Lists are up in the porches if you would like to donate aprize. When you have sold your tickets please place the counterfoils
and cash in an envelope marked Raffle and either post them throughthe presbytery door or hane them to Sylvia or Jenny. We will also be
