To you, I li up my soul, O my God. In you, I have trusted; let me not be put to shame. Nor let

First Reading Isaiah (63:16-17, 64:1, 3-8)

You, Lord, yourself are our Father, Our Redeemer is your ancient name. Why, Lord, leave us to

Pastoral Corner

The word Advent means coming. It is a 3me of wai3ng and expecta3on. Only God knows when the second coming will be, but in to-

day’s Gospel we are reminded that we must stay awake and be ready for Jesus when he returns at the end of 3me. There are some

things during a 3me of wai3ng that we can keep on growing in our lives. What about the feeling of hope that comes from a belief that

we have been blessed by God with the gi of our faith?

It is important especially to keep that feeling of hope alive and ac3ve in our lives. Hope is the dynamo that drives us on through the

daily struggles we face. It is the source of our missionary journey to others. Hope is the light in us that a,racts others to our way of

life. Unless we live as people of hope we are robbing others of the chance to see that we have faith in our redemp3on and in the re-

demp3ve teachings of Christ.
