“FROM THE DESK OF FR. FALLON” Can you taste the turkey yet? As you’re well aware, Thanksgiving is this Thursday! And besides being a great time to load up on carbs before you rush to the Black Friday deals, Thanksgiving is a time to think about those things for which we’re grateful. Grateful, gratitude, gratis, meaning gift, free. What are those things in your life? Who are those things? When we think about those things for which we’re grateful, we have the chance to turn them into a prayer. Because when we realize all the things God has blessed us with—we’re humbled. We can be overcome with joy for all the blessings, and THEN we can turn them into prayers of thanks and praise! If your family is anything like mine, Thanksgiving will have a lot of loud talking and passing of food and—praise Jesus—pumpkin pie! But what if it also included a conversation about gratitude? What if you were bold enough to ask all those around the table what they’re grateful for? Just make sure Uncle Albert doesn’t choke on the cranberries when you do! I’m very grateful you all choose to come to St. Es to worship with us. I look out on the congregation with gratitude, humbled by the responsibility Jesus has given me to be your priest. I’m also grateful for this Little Engine that Could and for those of you that have come up to me and said “How can I help?” Gratitude and humility lead us to give of our bounty, compel us to see where we can assist in God’s Good News! Prayers for a Blessed Thanksgiving!

HELLO, St. E’s family, friends and alumni. It is time to introduce our St. Elizabeth of Hungary clothing line. (the logo is above). The apparel is on display in the vestibule of church. Check out the quality of the Gildan Brand which is top notch and looks like new after years of wear. The order forms are also available to take home. These would make GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS for anyone! If you have any questions, please call Rosann Shannon @ 314-303-4433. Thank you and let’s wear our LOGO proudly.

The parish office will be closed on Wednesday, November 21st Through Friday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Normal office hours will resume on Monday, November 26, 2018. HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE PARISH STAFF!

COMING SOON! Look for the Giving Tree in the lobby of the church beginning the weekends of November 24/25 through December 8/9. The tree will have ornaments with suggested gifts that will be taken to Circle of Concern in Valley Park. The toys will be given to the children throughout the year on their birthdays. Hats, gloves, scarves and blankets or fleece throws are given out throughout the winter. Please consider taking an ornament or two and returning the

item UNWRAPPED by the weekend of December 15/16. The ornaments on the tree are only suggestions…use your imagination or pick up an extra gift when you are buying for your family. Not a shopper??? Envelopes for cash donations and gift cards will also be on the tree. Suggestions for gift cards are Marshalls, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Walmart, Target, Quicktrip, Walgreens, movie theaters and restaurants. Please limit the gift cards to $25 or less and consider buying them through our SCRIP program. The Circle of Concern food pantry provides, not only food, but other services for families in the area. Any questions, please call Jan Krumm 314-578-3329. For more information about Circle of Concern, please go to their website at www.circleofconcern.org. Thank you for your participation!
