Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. This day was once called Corpus Christi, which is Latin for “Body of Christ.” In the revised Lectionary the name for this day is expanded to reflect more completely our Eucharistic theology. "The Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church's life." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1407) The weekly celebration of the Eucharist defines who we are as Catholics—in our parishes, in our households of faith, in our neighborhoods, and in our world.

DO YOU FEEL CALLED TO PRAY WITH OTHERS?
As a part of our parish Evangelization efforts, a prayer ministry group of 'People Praying With Others' is being formed during the month of June. The aim is to have teams of pray-ers available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, on-site here at SEAS, during the month of July, to pray with a number of individuals who want help in raising their struggles and needs up to God. If you have a desire to take part in this exciting, short-term commitment, please contact Tess Keddie immediately. A 'training' meeting will be held during the 2nd half of June, but I need to know your interest level NOW. Please call 412-276-1011 ext. 221, or email [email protected].

PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN FOR ADULTS
While no safety methods are guaranteed, we want to be able to assure all families who attend our festival that all of our volunteers are in full compliance with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and have been educated through the Protecting God’s Children Program. Protecting God’s Children is an eye-opening program that is truly worth your time! It increases awareness and educates. As members of the Church, we have a role to protect all children. Please consider attending Protecting God’s Children if you have not done so in the past. Quit making excuses. This is just a one-time class. Be the educated adult who sees those vague warning signs. You may end up being the educated adult who saves a child. That child may be a total stranger...or someone you love. It’s worth your time. Call Tess Keddie for more details: 412-276-1011 x221
MEETING If you were a chairperson of a booth at last year’s Summerfest, and/or if you wish to be a booth chairperson at this year’s Summerfest, please come to a very important planning meeting on Tuesday, June 16 in the Maximilian Kolbe Room, at 7:00 p.m.
AUCTION BASKETS/DONATIONS FOR
SUMMERFEST 2015
Our Auction Basket Booth has always been a success due to the donations of our wonderful parishioners. The Ladies of Charity are in need of completed Theme Baskets and/or items to make a completed Theme Basket -Gift Cards, Lottery Tickets, a Monetary Donation, Bottles of Wine or Spirits, Sporting Events or Theater Tickets, etc. . . . Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. All donations need to be received by Friday July 17, 2015. Donations can be dropped off at the church office (330 Third Avenue). Please mark your donation "L of C Auction Basket". If you have any questions, please call Leslie Charitan at 412-257-3117. This year, as a convenience, we invite you to drop lottery tickets and gift cards into the collection basket with your weekly offertory gift. Can you imagine if each family donated one lottery or gift card each week until the deadline? Our auction baskets will be drawing huge crowds to the festival!
SPONSORS NEEDED! Corporate/Family Sponsors are needed! There is much to be rented, and bands to be paid. These are costs that we wish to cover with donations! For a $100 donation, your company/family will be listed on our sponsor banner. For $1,000 your company/family will be listed on the banner and will sponsor a booth and/or band. Is your company big enough to sponsor the entire event? That would be amazing! Call Tim Castello, business manager and Festival
