XIV ORDINARY SYNOD OF BISHOPS ROME 4 – 25 OCTOBER 2015

Canonisation of first couple saints at Synod. On Sunday 18th October, Pope Francis will canonize Blessed Louis and Zèlie Martin, the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux. They will be the first spouses in the history of the Church to be canonized as a couple. And let’s continue to keep this Synod in our prayers.

ALL SOULS DAY MASS Tobin Brothers & Keilor Cemetery Trust extend an invitation to all to attend the All Souls Day Mass at Keilor Cemetery on Saturday 7th November at 11am. Mass will be dedicated to those people buried or entombed at Keilor Cemetery. Mass will be offered in English, Italian, Maltese, Croation, Polish, Slovenian, Filipino and Vietnamese.

2016 COLUMBAN CALENDARS The 2016 Columban Art Calendar is now available at the Piety Stall at St Christopher’s or after Mass at St Augustine’s. The cost is $8.00.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE Parish Mass of Remembrance, celebrated every year following the ALL SOULS’ DAY will be held on Wednesday, 4 November at 7.30pm in St Christopher’s Church. We especially remember those from our families and parish community who died during the past year. In keeping with tradition you are asked to bring a flower to place in the sanctuary in memory of your loved one. Everyone is welcome to attend the Mass and get together over a cuppa and light refreshments in the Parish House after Mass. If you would like a name added to the Book of Remembrance other than those whose funeral was held at St Christopher’s or St Augustine’s, please call the Parish Office on 9338 3793 by Friday 30th October.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendour of true love,

to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth,

grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the

Gospel and small domestic churches. Holy Family of Nazareth,

may families never again experience violence, rejection and division:

may all who have been hurt or scandalised find ready comfort and healing.

Holy Family of Nazareth, may the approaching Synod of Bishops make us once

more mindful of the sacredness of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer. Amen

S. MESSA PER I DEFUNTI Tobin Brothers e Keilor Cemetery Trust estende a tutti un invito per attendere alla S. Messa per Le Anime Dei Defunti al cimitero di Keilor Sabato 7 Novembre alle ore 11.00am. La S. Messa sarà dedicate a tutti coloro che sono seppelliti al Cimitero di Keilor. Parti della Messa Concelebrata sara recitata in Inglese, Italiano, Maltese, Croato, Polacco, Sloveno e Vietnamita.

S. MESSA DI COMMEMORAZIONE La S. Messa Parrocchiale di Commemorazione, celebrate ogni anno a seguito della Messa per il giorno dei Defunti verrà celebrate Mercoledi 4 Novembre alle ore 7.30pm, nella Chiesa di St Christopher. Saranno recordati specialmente coloro delle nostre famiglie e quelli della Communità Parrocchiale che sono deceduti durante quest’anno. Continuando con la tradizione siete pregati di portare un fiore per posarlo davanti all’Altare in memoria della costra persona cara. Siete tutti invitati ad attendere alla S. Messa e dopo la S. Messa riunirci insieme per un caffè e un leggero rinfresco nella Casa Parrocchiale.
