Newsletter Principal’s Message - Mr. Casavant

Wow, three more weeks of school to Christmas. We had record numbers out for Parent-Teacher Interviews

and so I want to thank everyone for taking time out of your busy schedules and coming into check on the

progress of your children. If you are unsure of anything that is going on in your child’s classroom, feel free to

contact their teacher and if you have questions or concerns about anything we are doing in the school, feel

free to contact me.

We are starting basketball and have 5 teams competing this year with all five looking very strong. I want to

personally thank all of our coaches for their countless hours of volunteering that they provide every year. We

have really improved our athletic programming and this is in large part due to the dedication of our athletes

and the excellent coaching they are getting.

We have made a few changes to our Christmas programming this year and so we have gone to a family fun

night on Thursday, December 20th. We want to thank the Affinity Credit Union and our School Community

Council for sponsoring this event. Additional details of the event will be provided in this newsletter. We are

also going to have a formal day on Friday December 21st that will see our entire student body fed turkey,

ham, mashed potatoes and all of the trimmings for dinner. We want to thank our Co-op Store and especially

Wendy for her sponsorship of this event as well as a thank you to the many volunteers who are coming in to

cook and serve this meal. We also have an early dismissal happening at 2pm. With the buses coming early on

that day. On behalf of the staff, I want to wish each of your families a very, merry Christmas and a happy

New Year!

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

We are very pleased to announce that we have 58 students on our JRFH team. We have had a busy

start to our year...enjoying a post-Halloween glow-in-the-dark skipping party and learning some “Wild

West” moves as we incorporated the Farmin’ Friday theme. We recently introduced pogo sticks which

we will be practising with to intensify sessions.

We would like to thank everyone for supporting our TJ’s Frozen Pizza Sale. This enables us to continue to run this great program. The pizzas can be picked up at the school on Monday, Dec.10 from 3:30-5:00.

We will have a PJ and popcorn movie party on Wednesday, Dec.12 as our Christmas party.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
