Labor Day Picnic News: Any person in charge of a picnic booth or station that has food items or food related items needs to email any changes needed for next year’s picnic to [email protected] . This is best done while the information is still fresh in one’s mind. Please respond by Sept 27 whether there are changes or not. T-Shirts for Sale: $8.00– 2 Youth XL, 1 Youth L. Available at the office.
Haiti student sponsor drive - Last year we sponsored 290 of the 410 students at our sister parish school, please help us increase this number this year. For $75 a year, you can provide tuition and books for a stu-dent. For an additional $60 a year you also provide a daily lunch for your sponsored student. There are no free schools in Haiti and many children in rural areas like Gandou cannot afford to attend school. Sponsorship fliers are in the back of church.

The Morris Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary are asking for desserts for the Floyd Doll Auction on Sept 16. Sept 19 Facilities Committee Meeting at 6:30 in the lower hall. Anyone wanting to be part of the facilities committee is invit-ed. We will be discussing the Church Structure Assessment re-port received from Arsee Engineering and a few other items. If you plan to attend and would like a copy of the report to review before hand, call or text John Messerschmidt @ 812-212-0826. Facilities Committee Update: (a) We have a new water heater in the kitchen (b) A Termite inspection revealed the existence of termites in the church building. A termite treatment was com-pleted in July. (c) Arsee Engineering completed a thorough in-spection of our church building, especially the steeple. We have their report in hand and will be reviewing it over the next few weeks. More to come on this subject. Sept 21 Parish Council Meeting 6:30 in the lower hall.

Oct 7 Family Conference: "Prayer, Family and Relationship with God". "Would you like your family to have a closer relationship with God? Come to the Prayer, Family and Relationship with God Conference at St. Nicholas on Saturday, October 7th beginning with Mass at 8:30 am at St. Nicholas and ending with Adoration at 7:30 pm. The presenter will be John Beaulieu, Christian Outreach, Francis-can University, Steubenville. John has been sharing the love of Christ and witnessing about the power and person of the Holy Spirit with youth and adults for the past thirty years. He will give the following talks throughout the day: The Perfect Love of the Father, The Sacrifi-cial Love of the Son, The Abiding Love of the Holy Spirit, Releasing the Grace of the Holy Spirit, The Satisfying Love of Community. John invites teens and adults to attend."

1st Degree initiation on September 11th at 7PM. We ask anyone
interested in joining to be at the hall around 6:30PM for

Sept 13 St. Louis Catholic Church will commemorate the 100th
Anniversary of the September apparition of Our Lady of Fatima
on Wednesday, September 13with a prayer service at 7:00pm.

Sept 16 The Batesville Knights of Columbus will be having their annual Soccer Challenge at the soccer fields just past the hall on Saturday, September 16. The contest will start at 8AM and run until 2PM. This is for girls and boys ages 9-14. Sept 19 Eucharistic Healing Service Tuesday, September 19th at St. Nicholas. "Come and be refreshed with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Confessions begin at 6:30, Praise and Worship Music starts at 6:45 with the service at 7:00. Receive individual prayer from Father Whittington and soaking prayer from prayer ministers." ~Stewardship~ Am I my brother’s keeper? All three readings today suggest that for the Christian steward the answer is “Yes!”
