Be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead! -1 Peter 1:6

Have you ever been in a situation where you have been in such a great mood all day until someone ruins it? Of course, some-

one is having a horrible day and the individual starts taking it out on you! What do you do? Does this make you be in a bad mood too and you blame that person for it? This has definitely happened to me before and it is difficult to not be in a bad mood, especially when someone is getting mad at you for something you didn't do! When this happens to you, don’t let anyone steal your joy! Most of the time, it isn’t your fault when a person is mad at you because maybe the individual is going through something that you know nothing about. Only God knows, so we should always pray for healing because that is exactly what they need. This next week I challenge you to find one positive out of a sticky situation you are in. Trust me; there is always some sort of positive hidden in a horrible situation. This will help you find joy in your life. Please listen to “Joy” by For King and Country. "And I choose joy. Let it move you, let it move, let it move you. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of night. Oh, with You by my side, I'm stepping into the light I choose joy.”

Kylie’s Corner

Message from the desk of the Pastor

My dear people of God,

John the Baptist told the people of Israel to turn back to God and ask for his forgiveness.

John baptized all the people who were truly sorry, as a sign that they wanted to wash away all their sins and so begin a new life.

God sent John to prepare the people for the coming of his son, Jesus. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. He came to turn them away from sin and to change their hearts.

The repentance for which John the Baptist calls goes beyond a simple confession of wrong doings. It involves a profound change of the whole person and demands turning our backs on old self-centered habits. He is telling us that there is a wrong way to live and a right way. If we are to make a clear pathway for God to come into our hearts we have to turn away from sin, resolve to conduct ourselves better and humbly ask Jesus to give us his light instead.

Advent is a penitential season through which we are called back to Christ. We are to be other John the Baptists to lead others to Christ. But before we can do that we must turn more intensely to Christ.

My bothers and sisters, let us ask the Spirit to lead us by prayer and repentance this Advent. Now is the acceptable time to turn to Christ. Now is the time to experience the presence of the Holy One.

May God bless you and your loved ones through the presence of his Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless you all.

Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Joseph

Please Pray for Priests

Dear Lord, we pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around your priests and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry. We pray that Mary will guide your priests to follow her own words, “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5) May your priest have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary’s most chaste spouse. May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross. May your priest be holy, filled with the fire of your love seek-ing nothing but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.

St. John Vianney, pray for us.
