Ask for healing. 4. Pray for CHLOE LOUKES, her blood sugar levels are uncontrolled. She is hospitalized till they can get it under control. Pray they will establish the proper treatment doses to be effective.

5. Pray for quick & complete healing for KALE VASS who had a serious eye injury. 6. Pray for JENNIFER ALLERS who had serious eye surgery on Dec 8th. Pray for success and full healing. 7. Pray for full recovery for BILL SCHWARTZ after 2 stents were inserted. Pray for healing of other health Issues he has had. Pray strength for Della. 8. Pray for LUCY INGALLS who will be having an injection of Kyphoplasty (bone cement) into the spine on

the 29th., at Swedish Hosp. in Seattle if the Drs. Approve of the procedure. She will have a meeting with the Drs. On 12/26, please pray that they will approve of this procedure as Lucy is in constant pain.

9. Pray for NESTA DONALDSON who is having back problems. Pray for less pain and healing. 10. LARRY KLAHN will be having hip replacement surgery soon. Please pray for a successful replacement,

which will eliminate his pain and give full mobility. 11. Pray for DON ROME who is having a serious undiagnosed eye problem. 12. Continue to pray for CLAUDIA, she has blood clots on her lungs and not responding well to blood

thinners. 13. Pray for DAVE KING, retired pastor, suffering a leg wound which will not heal. Praise the medication is

starting to heal the wound. Continue to pray for complete healing. 14. Pray for DON ZANE, suffered a stroke. Pray for full recovery and for strength for PAT his wife as

she tends to his needs. 15. Pray for SCOTT LAST, missionary and pastor, hospitalized with bleeding on brain. Pray for healing. 16. Pray for Chris Purviance’s SISTER, their unborn baby has problems and if carried to full term may not live. Pray for the Lord to intervene. . 17. “Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while

until his wrath has passed by.” Isa. 26:20 (NIV)

I watched a yellow male weaverbird gather strands from a palm and construct his nest. While com-

mon in Africa, the weaver is something of a marvel. In Nigeria I examine a nest closely and was amazed to

find a repeating pattern in the bird’s knitting. The nest was a hollow globe with a small entry at the bot-

tom that kept out rain and predators. In southern Africa, weavers add a hanging tunnel to the side open-

ing of their nests. The only way in is to wiggle through the 30 cm long tube. High in the tree, a hundred

of these nests dangled like Christmas balls, keeping the eggs snug from the storms and mayhem outside.

God tells His people to hide in their rooms from His wrath against the world. This is not an injunc-

tion to recluse away from the lost; it is a warning to keep our hearts protected for our true love. The ac-

tivities of this life threaten to consume me — both its lures and its pain. Suggestive ads, trendy cars, ex-

otic vacations, agonizing diseases, bizarre changes, innovative technology, bloody massacres, diverse mu-

sic, births and death: so much to grapple with and integrate. Jesus says, “Let Me be your nest, your place

of safety away from the noise of the world around you. Withdraw your heart into intimate friendship with

Me while I deal with everything on the outside.”

I am invited into a quiet yet passionate interior life with Jesus. My faith must weave a strong sanc-

tuary against anything this life can dish out, good or bad. Each new event is an occasion to curl up next to

Jesus and rest in His strength and peace; to grow in the fullness of love. So much of what is said or goes

on around me is never meant to come into the nest. I must trust Jesus to whisper those few things I need

in order to thrive and serve Him. All the rest is marked to be destroyed by the wrath of God, so leave it

outside.

Prayer: “Jesus, hide my heart away from the noise of the world”.
