Parish Survey Results Over the next few weeks, we will continue to share information with you regarding the survey results. #5 Would you be interested in participating in opportunities to learn more about your faith, in a religious education group? If so, which would attract you more? (Ranked answers) 1. Small Group; 2. Bible Study; 3. DVD Series; 4. Large Group #5a When and where would work best for you to participate? Several people responded to meet in the church hall. Times were mostly varied with responses like “Depends on where we meet.” NOTE: The Christian Education Commission is working to develop some small group opportunities. If you are interested in leading a group of some kind (couples, singles, men only, women only, bible study, etc.) please be sure to let us know, or indicate this on your Stewardship Forms. If you have a program you are interested in, let us know, and we can look to purchase items for your group. Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) is a FUN and ENERGETIC parish-based summer catechetical program for school age children, junior high, and high school youth. Totus Tuus combines Catholic religious instruction and FUN! NOTE: This is in place of our regular Vacation Bible School

A team of college students and seminarians will be at our parish the week of June 24-30. The youthfulness and energy of these teachers is an inspiring way to share the faith and their enthusiasm is contagious, so come out and join us!

The daytime program will run from 9:00AM to 2:30PM for students in grades 1-5. (June 25-30) The evening session will run from 7:30PM to 9:30PM for junior high (6-8) and high school (9-12) youth. (June 24-29) Please register by June 16 so we know how many students to expect.

The day includes catechetical instruction on our theme — Prayer and the Our Father, songs and skits that are silly but teach serious stuff, encounters with the sacraments — particularly Confession and the Eucharist, and time for games and recess. For junior and senior high school youth, Totus Tuus will deepen their faith with more in-depth discussions on the theme.

Registration forms were sent home in school Friday Folders, and will be available through our website, and at church.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? 1. We will be in need of some adult helpers for the day program, as well as a “Crew” to help

coordinate snacks and meals for the week. 2. We are also looking for host housing for the team — one for the women and one for the men. 3. We are looking for monetary donations to cover the cost of the program (team + their meals,

snacks, etc.) Please contact Kris Stodgel at the parish office if you are interested in helping or have any questions regarding this program.

June 24-30, 2017

End of the 2016/2017 School Year: The year has come to a close and students have been sent out for their summer vacation. Teachers are finishing up with their classrooms. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer! School Improvement Projects: When the students return in

the fall, kindergarten through 3rd grade will find updated heating and cooling systems and hopefully new windows and doors.

NEWS AND EVENTS FROM SAINTS PETER & PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOL

SUMMER STEWARDSHIP S S I : As a continuation of encouraging our students to do their part to share their time and talent (Stewardship) by serving at Mass, we will be offering each student currently in Grades 4-7 a chance to put their name into a drawing to be held at the end of the summer for some SCRIP cards (amount and vendor TBD). Mrs. Stodgel spoke to the students in 3rd –7th grade and explained the “rules” — show up to serve and be sure to sign in when you are there. For the 3rd grade students, while they have not officially been trained, they are allowed to check and see if a 3rd or 4th server is needed (and their name will also be put into the drawing) at a weekend Mass and can volunteer to help out if someone else was unable to make it to the Mass that day. We do strongly encourage you to find a substitute if you cannot make your assigned Mass time. As a THANK YOU to those who have already done their part (from November to last weekend) 3 prizes were given from names drawn: $10 Breadeaux Certificates to Ethan Sprecher and Alyssa Fitzgerald, and a $10 Subway card to Allison Drummond. Thank you for encouraging your child to do his/her part by serving at Mass. — SS. Peter & Paul Stewardship Committee

Scrip Update: We have many gi cards in the SCRIP inventory that have been hanging around for awhile. Some of them start to take off amounts if they are not used within a certain me frame. If there is something you're looking for, please let me know and I can see about ordering them. Vicki Nave: [email protected] or 314-412-1498
