C1 - CPOE
� Computerized provider order entry for:
� Medications
� Laboratory orders* – New in 2014
� Radiology orders* – New in 2014*Includes orders for services done in office!
� Must be entered by a licensed* healthcare professional* Includes credentialed medical assistants!
� Order must be entered into EHR before any action can
be taken on the order

� Thresholds:
� > 60% of medications
� > 30% of laboratory orders
� > 30% of radiology orders
� Exclusions, EP writes:
� < 100 medication orders during the reporting period
� < 100 radiology orders during the reporting period
� < 100 laboratory orders during the reporting period

C10 – Clinical Lab-Test Results
� Incorporate clinical lab-test results as structured data
� Threshold: > 55% of all clinical lab tests results ordered
during the reporting period whose results are in either:
� A positive/negative format
� Numerical format
� Exclusion: Any EP who orders no lab tests where results
are either in a positive/negative affirmation or numeric
format during the reporting period

M3 – Imaging Results
� Imaging results are accessible through the EHR
� Results consist of the image itself and any other accompanying
information
� Images do not have to be stored in the EHR
� Images and imaging results that are scanned into the
EHR may be counted in the numerator of this measure.
� Threshold: > 10% of all tests whose result is one or more
images ordered by the EP during the reporting period
� Works in conjunction with CPOE� PACS that communicate via HL7 will automatically match to order
� Scanned results will have to be manually matched

� Exclusions: Any EP who:
� Orders <100 tests whose result is an image during the reporting
period, or
� Who has no access to electronic imaging results at the start of
the reporting period

CPOE orders

� Authorized = User can issue orders
� Supervision Required = User can issue orders but does not
count for MU (Default value)
� No Access= Deny access to CPOE module
