Summary

I am an Engineer (B.Tech, IIT) as well as a seasoned Mathematician (M.Sc, IIT; Ph.D in Pure Mathematics, IMSC, Chennai) with a flair for Computer Software. I have experience in designing and coding algorithms and data structures using Java, C and C++ for solving complex problems

I am keenly interested in pursuing my career in the industry associated with solving complex real life problems in the area of Bigdata, Analytics, and algorithms. I have worked with a startup company and developed my skills in these areas. My expertise in pure mathematics as well as fundamental programming techniques will make me an ideal candidate in situations where statistical analytics and mathematical modeling are involved.

My education and research in world class organizations like IIT and IMSC adds to my confidence that I can succeed in solving complex problems with my creative problem solving skills. During my stay in IIT as well as in IMSC I developed flare for C, C++, MATLAB, Mathematica, UNIX and Shell programming, and did several programming projects involving creative problem solving skills and algorithms, involving complex data structures.

I am good at documentation and can easily adapt to any high level and low level programming environment and can deliver my best in the most demanding situations. Given an opportunity I am confident I can prove my mettle in any challenging situation and establish myself as an asset to any organization employing my services.

Relevant Industry Experience

Worked in Aurospaces from Feb 2015 to July 2015. My key achievements at Aurospaces are as below:

1. Designed and developed algorithms with the associated data structures in Java.

2. Designed interesting algorithms like:

Matching service-seekers and service-providers on a web platform and making auto-assignment to the optimal pairs so as to optimize company revenue and also provide the best of the service to service seeker

Some of my Software projects involving creative problem solving skills are:

1. My B. Tech project was to use finite element method to solve axisymmetric problems. I have designed and developed a C++ program for evaluating the displacements in a hollow cylinder under internal and external pressure. The finite element solutions obtained from the computer program were validated with the theoretical solutions and found to be in close agreement.

2. I wrote a C++ program to solve knight’s tour problem to find possible paths of a knight covering all the 64 squares of a chess board. I have used heuristics and backtracking techniques to solve this problem. This program executed successfully and earned tremendous amount of applause for me from my teachers, classmates and friends.

3. I have developed in C++ programs for solving the following problems:

a) Finding longest path in a directed graph

b) Sorting singly linked lists by manipulating links alone

Mathematics projects

I did a project on representation theory of finite groups in M.Sc.

About my Ph.D Thesis

I have worked on the skein theory for finite depth subfactor planar algebras. I have proved that a finite depth subfactor planar algebra has finite presentation. I also proved an interesting result about finite dimensional complex semisimple algebras without an M2(C) summand where C stands for set of complex numbers. I showed that if S : A → A is an involutive algebra anti-automorphism. Then there exists an element a in A such that a, S(a) generate A as a unital algebra. Using this result I proved an interesting fact about finite depth subfactor planar algebras. I showed that if P is a subfactor planar algebra of finite depth k. Then P is generated by a single t-box, where t = min{2k, s} and s is the even number in {k + 3, k + 4}.
