Sad Demise of KUSO Patron and Supporter

SRIHARI L. KHODAYIndustrialist, liquor baron

and film producer Srihari Lakshmansa Khoday passed away due to brief illness on Monday, 31.10.2016. He was 78. He is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters.

Srihari L. Khoday was born on April 26, 1938 and educated in Bengaluru. He has been Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Khoday India Ltd. since 2011 and has been its Director since 1965. He steered the business of the Khoday Group of Companies for over 40 years through his business knowledge, acumen, dynamism and practical approach.

He was a philanthropist of renown and has s ing le handedly taken upon himself the ongoing project of relocating and restoring the ancientSri Venugopala Swamy Temple

near Mysuru which was submerged after the construction of the Krishnaraja Sagar dam.

He was a director in 10 public companies and 35 private companies in the Khoday Group. Srihari Khoday was also a great patron of fine arts and promoted sports. He has produced award winning movies such as Santha Shishunala Sharita, Mysore Mallige, Nagamandala and yet to be released Allama Prabhu directed by T.S. Nagabharana.

He had friends in all political parties. He was known for precision in perceiving things.

Aksharaabhyaasam was held on 11th October 2016, Vijayadhasami Day in the temple of Sourashtra Colony Sanmarga Sabha, situated in Scheme Road, Dindigul. It was presided over by Sourashtra Sanmaarga Sabha President Sri N.G. Subramanian in the presence of committee members. Sri N.G. Acharya (the teacher) with his own hands trained the students to write ‘a’ in Sourashtri (Devanagari) script with fingers on a tray of paddy (as per tradition). About 20 children, their parents and members of our community learnt to write Sourashtri letters. The children and adults who did the Aksharaabhyaas were given primary Akshara Varnamala books. Puja with naivedyam was conducted and Prasad was distributed. Brain Power Diminishing As It is Not Needed For Survival Anymore

London: Humans are losing intellectual and emotional capabilities because we no longer need intelligence to survive, a new study has claimed. Researchers from Stanford University claim the intricate web of genes which endows us with our brain power is particularly vulnerable to mutations – and these mutations are not being selected against our modern society because we no longer need intelligence to survive.

However, we shouldn't lose any sleep over our diminishing brain power— as by the time it becomes a real problem – technology will have found a solution making natural selection obsolete, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

“The development of our intellectual abilities and the optimization of thousands of intelligence genes probably occurred in relatively non-verbal, dispersed groups of peoples before our anchesters emerged from Africa,” said Gerald Crabtree, lead author.

In this environment, intelligence was critical for survival, and there was likely to be immense selective pressure acting on the genes required for intellectual development, leading to a peak in human intelligence.

It was downhill from there on in as, from that point, it's likely that we began to slowly lose ground, researchers claim. According to researchers, with the development of agriculture, came urbanization, which may have weakened the power of selection to weed out mutations leading to intellectual disabilities.

Based on calculations of the frequency with which deleterious mutations appear in human genome and the assumption that 2,000 to 5,000 genes are required for intellectual ability, Crabtree estimates that within 3,000 years – about 120 generations – we have all sustained two or more mutations harmful to our intellectual or emotional stability.

Recent findings from neuroscience suggest that genes involved in brain function are uniquely susceptible to mutations, the report said. OBITUARYSri T.S. Kuppusamy, aged 69, (Proprietor, Ramani Agency, Dindigul),

elder brother of Sri T.S. Jayabalan, General Secretary, KUSO, expired on 11.10.2016. He was survived by his wife Smt. T.S.K. Shyamala, one son, one daughter and four grand daughter. KUSO conveys its grief to the bereaved family.

dustbin ... He said, Thank GOD, I am not poor.The poor man looked around and saw a naked

man misbehaving on the street ... He said, Thank GOD I am not mad.

The mad man looked ahead and saw an ambulance carrying a patient ... He said, Thank GOD, I am not sick.

Then a sick person in hospital saw a trolley taking a dead body to the mortuary ... He said, Thank GOD, I am not dead.

Only a dead person cannot thank God. Why don't you thank GOD today for all your blessings and for the gift of life ... for another beautiful day.

At the Hospital, you will understand that nothing is more beautiful than HEALTH. In the Prison, you'll see that FREEDOM is the most precious thing. At the Cemetery, you will realize that life is worth nothing. The ground that we walk today will be our roof tomorrow.Sad Truth : We all come with *nothing* and we will go with *nothing* ... Let us, therefore,
