Our Story

• Founded in the 1960’s by Melvin and Irving Schottenstein

• For over 25 years, the company operated as a multi-family specialist using the name M/I Real Estate Co.

• In the late 1970’s Melvin and Irving Schottenstein founded M/I Schottenstein Homes and began building single family homes. Gary Schottenstein took the helm of M/I Real Estate and continues with his coaching and leadership as CEO to this day.

• Five years ago, the M/I Real Estate executive team, decided to begin building new condominium homes and changed the name to the SCHOTTENSTEIN REAL ESTATE GROUP, LLC.

• Today we are the 14th largest builder/developer in the Greater Columbus Area and we continue to be respected as a leader in the Central Ohio Real Estate industry.
