Management of SQF Program
SQF Program is owned by Food Marketing Institute (FMI)
SQF Program is operated by the SQF Institute, a division of FMI
Stakeholder input and oversight• Technical Advisory Council (TAC) – made up of
segments from all stakeholders in industry (retailers, foodservice, suppliers, service providers)
• Technical Sub-committees – stakeholder groups which develop documents for review by the TAC
SQF 2000 – A HACCP supplier assurance standard for the manufacturing sector
SQF 1000 – HACCP based supplier assurance standard for primary producers
The SQF Codes
Both Standards have been benchmarked against the GFSI

Update on SQF Training
From April 2009 – April 2010 • Over 5000 students attended SQF course from 17
SQF training centers
• 3,200 Implementing SQF 2000 exams passed
• 316 SQF auditor exams passed
• 468 Implementing SQF 2000 on-line courses taken
SQF 1000 5th Edition Update
5th Edition final version was released Sept 1st, 2009

SQF 2000 6th Edition Update
SQF 2000 6th Edition was finalized and posted in August, 2008
Updated in July 2010 • Not a new version, no
content was revised• New scoring protocols for

SQF Ethical Sourcing Module
Module built combining the SQF modules (RSP, REP), retailer standards and the Global Social Compliance Program (GSCP)
To be combined with SQF certification audit
Expected to be 1 additional audit day
Auditors will be required to be SQF registered and undergo an additional training session on ethical sourcing module
