S pur Cross R anch Conservation Area is th e new estaddition to M aricopa County's R eg ional Park S ystem .T h e conservation area is very scenic, encom passing2,154 acres of diverse, rug g ed upland S onoran desert. Itcontains num erous arch aeolog y sites, portions of CaveCreek and th e rem nants of early m ining and ranch ingoccupation. S everal floral com m unities present in th econservation area provide a rich h abitat for a diverseassem blag e of w ildlife.O n January 9, 2001, docum ents w ere sig ned byGovernor Jane H ull for th e S tate of Arizona, S upervisorJan Brew er for M aricopa County and M ayor VincentF rancia for th e T ow n of Cave Creek, ensuring th econservation of th is special pro-perty. S pur Cross R anchis desig nated a "lim ited-use public recreation andconservation area.” Plans include th e developm ent of avisitor center, restroom s and additional trails.

Please:- All public access on S pur Cross is non-m otorized.- O bserve sig ns on trails and park rules.- R em ain on desig nated “open” trails and roads.- Do not enter closed areas.- Do not enter arch aeolog ical sites or collect any artifacts.- Leash ed pets only.

Ranger-guided hikes are offered to sensitive riparianareas and archaeological sites.
