SPSS for Mac Installation Instructions 1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet. This is required to authorize your

license.

2. If you have purchased online, download the Mac installation file to your computer's local hard drive. 3. Double-click the downloaded IBM SPSS Statistics disk image (.dmg) file. 4. Inside the disk image, right-click the SPSS_Statistics_Installer icon and select Open.

5. You may be asked if you are sure you want to open the file. Click Open.

6. You may be prompted for your Mac OS X administrator password.

7. In the IBM SPSS Statistics installer window, click OK to start the installation process.

8. On the Introduction screen, click Next.

9. Read and Accept the terms in the Software License Agreement window and click Next.

10. When asked to install IBM SPSS Statistics – Essentials for Python, select Yes and click Next.

11. Read and Accept the terms in the Software License Agreement window and click Next.

12. Read and Accept the terms in the Software License Agreement window and click Next.

13. On the Choose Install Folder window, select or create a folder to hold the installation. We strongly recommend that you choose the default location. Click Next.

14. On the Pre-Installation Summary screen, review the options you chose and click Install. The installer will run for several minutes.

15. Wait for SPSS to complete installation. This process will take between 1 to 10 minutes depending on the speed of your workstation and whether the installation is being performed from DVD or digital download.

16. To start IBMS SPSS Statistics and activate the license leave Start SPSS Statistics 26 License Authorization Wizard now checked and click Done.

17. The program will now launch the activation window. On the License Status window click Next.

18. On the Product Authorization windows select Authorized user license and click Next.

19. Enter the Authorization code provided and click Next.

20. If successful, the installer should report "Successfully processed all codes". Click Next.

21. Click Finish. You have now completed the installation and license the authorization of your new SPSS software.

22. To launch SPSS, open a new finder window and navigate to Applications > IBM > SPSS > Statistics >

26 and then double click SPSSStatistics.
